I think it's the wind chill that makes it so bad, I would say get some of those hand guards that you put on your handlebars if you can for your bike, I reckon they would help loads. My boyfriend had the exact same problem last year, doing 80mph down the motorway at points and an hour long journey, by the time he got to work he said he was nearly in tears with the pain in his hands ____________________ What would you do in life, if you knew you could not fail?

Last winter i wore two sets of thinsulate gloves and even that wasn't good enough. The wind chill is the biggest problem and the pain i got after a ride was unbearable. Looked into heated grips but its the top part of your fingers/knuckles etc that get the wind chill, not the palms. Maybe worth spending that little bit more and getting something along these lines...

Yup, tried and love:
Zoidberg mitts.
Heated grips. You don't have to splash out, you can get basic heating elements and shrink wrap rubber that mount over your grips (i.e. get the heat straight to your hands!) for just a few £££ from China.
Hand guards.
I find that liner gloves actually conduct heat away from my hands. I've tried cotton and silk and both made things worse. I'll give latex a try.
Since I can't fit guards on the GPZ, I guess it's time to get wrist deep in muff. Being a cheapskate, I'm minded to just bodge something up from some vinyl and a manky old flokati rug that I have lying around rather than spank £40 on Tucano muffs. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Muffs are great. Keep wind and rain off your hands, add heated grips, then let yourself worry about the other stuff getting cold |

Last year I used my winter gloves, some woolen gloves underneath and those diesel gloves to try and keep the wind out, was still bloody cold.
I spent £30 on some heated grips for the fazer and cursed myself for not doing it sooner, difference was huge ____________________ Yamaha FZS600 (Now gone to heaven) > CBR600F4i (SOLD) > '99 YZF-R1 |

Thats my thinking, esp since i have the gortex gloves, and do only 20 miles est journeys.
Also considering the pathon 3 fingered ones, supposed to be very good, with the fingers and air interacting etc, and gortex lining.
Even in said gloves in winter, cold sets in FAST.
Having just got new grips, i,m reluctant to get the heated ones, the RNG ones looked ok with good reviews, but 'seemed' not as good as renthal race grips etc.
Looking at the 30 quid renthal hand guards, as need the non bar end ones. ____________________ Jogging on, destination living. |

Yup, I fitted those to my 125 and they worked fine. Because they sit on top of the grips, they actually got the heat to my fingers quicker than the heated grips fitted to my other bikes. Recommended at the price. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
