Good morning all. Smile

On Tuesday I found out that I had been right royally screwed over by a business partner who I also considered a close friend. I can't really put into words the sense of betrayal and hurt. Hurt

Having spent Tuesday night in tears, I spend all Wednesday on paperwork, telephone calls and general damage limitation. Sick

On Thursday I moved out of my office. You now cannot move in my house for office furniture, filing cabinets, stationery and boxes of stuff. Pale

Today is Friday. Sod everything, I'm off on my bike. I will not come back until I am positively flushed.. Chequered Flag

Thank you for listening...

Really sorry to hear that. This sort of thing seems to be happening a lot as desperation takes hold in the UK economy.

Hope going for a ride helped clear your head a bit.

Sadly, these days it's best not to put yourself in a position where your personal wellbeing relies on A. N. Other person because they're almost guaranteed to stamp all over your hopes and dreams and fail to give a crap.

This? This right here is why I don't like humans. Thumbs Down

I hope it works out for you. Worst case, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs always enjoy hearing about people who might have been less than scrupulously honest in their earnings declarations.

A bike ride does calm one down and make one feel better. Just take yourself off and let the wind blow the cares away.

Sadly it never really cures anything as the cares are still there when you get back home and you still have to face them.

As for the ex partner. Lets all go down to Cornwall and take a dump on his desk. Laughing

This must be so awful. There's a big gap between where you are now and the space where you're ready to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and carry on.

Bikes are an excellent bridge for that gap. Just put your phone and cash card in your pocket and go out and ride and ride till you're ready to come back. Repeat as often as required.

I like pinky's idea about an en-masse visit to Cornwall. I can volunteer cake and tea for the participants Wink

It's not always a good idea to grass-up a business partner to HMRC as you may have joint and several liabilty for any sums due.

I split up with a long-term girlfriend many moons ago and found that the best way to get rid of those thoughts for her was to go out for a ride on my bike.I got home refreshed and ready to get on with my life

Hellooo! Am back from epic (for me) ride. Well and truly flushed. Also soaked to the skin. It was sunny when I set off. Confused Nearly got taken out by a micra driven by a silver haired granny, but otherwise no hassles. Took on roundabouts, right turns, hill starts and more roundabouts. Took it as fast as it would go (72mph on the dual-carriageway). Have come a long way since my CBT. Smile

Now have to face the shit at home. Thanks for your comments, Smile. I'm in Dorset, so if you go dumping in Cornwall you will have overshot. It was purely business, so there's no romantic stuff to deal with. Will not seek revenge or hold a grudge, that that is like drinking poison in the hope that it will harm someone else. I will just 'nothing' them from now on.

So, nowt else to do but pick myself up, brush myself down and carry on. Please make me laugh. Very Happy

That is one of the problems of mixing friends and family with money. You tend to trust them further than you normally would a business partner, hence leave yourself vulnerable.

I tend to also avoid socialising with work people, beyond work social functions.

In general, loved ones, like girlfriends etc, will fark you over for money. The only ones I have found I can blindly trust with money, are male friends I was in the army with many years ago. Those friendships, although not like day to day friends, have a different bond, and when i have lent them large sums, with no paperwork, it has always been repaid with offers of interest I refuse. Sometimes it took a while, but always paid back.

There are few human bonds that are stronger than money. Even marriage ends up as squabbling for money. And most marriages breakdown over money. That is what 'true love' is worth. About nothing. It can be sold for enough cash.

And some people are even worse when it comes to perpetual worshipping of shekels.

I would be crying if I had a bike that could only do 70 mph. I would take it to Cornwall to dump it in the sea Mr. Green

I was there with a "mate" and business partner about five years ago.
Eventually though, it's true that what goes around comes around.
Things have picked up a lot for me, and he is in deep shit now. I could help the bloke out if I wanted to, but I don't. Not a matter of malice or holding a grudge, just that I could never trust him again.

Then you are a better man than me, cause I would go out of my way to fuck him over, however long it took. I would take great pleasure in it.

Sucks to hear that. Wishing all the best, it's hard to believe how much people can change once money gets involved.
