I dident think he would do it, thought he would stick it out with McLaren, kinda a shame, but whitmarsh clearly favours Button.

I hope Brawn and mercedes can give him a race/title winning car, or he can drive the socks of an average car in the way Alonso has.

I like Hamilton but am concerned that being the best racing driver does not seem enough with all this XIX celeb bullshit.

Schumacher is out of a drive, maybe going to Sauber.

Lol and glad they are showing the clip, of Hammy, at about 8 years old saying he wants LOADSA money !!!

Although tbf, you could think that shown an early level of greed, when in fact i reckon it was the struggle and money he and his dad whent through funding the dream. Idea Smile

Hamilton has become consumed by celebrity, sure he is going to make a butt load of money but i dont think he will win another championship.

Nor would i want him too.

We already hear more about his private life off the track than we do on it, watch him get chewed up and spat out by these same people.

He has a life, and a pussycat doll, its the press who make more of it than it is, and i dont see him out OTT ALL the time at celb partys etc.

Hes just good MEDIA for them, race driver / pussy cat dolls / easy press for the papers.

I agree he has to an extent been consumed by celebrity.

I hope he can reign it in and realise he will get far more respect/fame from being the best racing drver, any schmuck can do the celebrity lifestyle, only a few can drive like he can.

He's going to Mercedes because they're pumping a lot of money in and expect to be real contenders next year and even more so in 2014.

I don't quite get his reputation though - he was outdone by button last year and he's only one win ahead this year. I think Buttton will win again this time just because he'll be the favoured driver.

Does leave a space at Ferrari for Schumi's return though Smile

Is not something going on with the engines, not only new FIA rules, but a change in stance from Merc engoines supplied to Mclaran ? Confused

Perezs form and availability would of been a big card in Mclarens arguement to let him go or not.

Yeah, 1.6s for 2014. Merc have been putting a lot of money into that. McLaren will be moved from the position of dev partner to ordinary customer.

I suppose Merc want to be the ONES - not someone else IE Mclaren, almost showing what can be done, with Mercs very own engines. Idea

Would backfire a tad, if Mclaren out class them long term, with said engines, and no delvelopment partnership. Idea

I think most agree he is the fastest driver,

One point away from winning the WDC in his rookie year.

Generally fastest in Qualifying.

Not that it makes him the best, he is petchulant, does not always use his head, but give all the drivers the same car and Lewis would be at least on the podium, if not the fastest...

You have to remember he has essentially been hot housed from a young age, much like those parents with their chess kids, you cant expect him to be as balanced as someone like button who has spent the majority of his career in slow cars, so can take it on the chin better, Hamilton is a winner and wants to win.

Another point, if we did not have this tyre degredation issue, ie they could go hell for leather and not worry about tyres he would possibly win more.

I would prefer too see that in F1, while tyre management is interesting and adds strategy, IMHO it should be drive as fast as you can the whole time...

He's just about the most boring man alive, his driving has been less than great at times too. Sure he's still fast and can be consistent too, but he gets involved in avoidable incidents way too often. Sure he can blame Mclaren for their car / mechanics failing him every now and then, but he has failed them more often and they have always stuck by him.

Merc may well have a good car in 2014, but so will Mclaren, in fact more certainly will McLaren. Hopefully by then Perez will have more experience and will be kicking his arse Laughing

Hamilton is a massive, self obsessed cunt.

God knows why anyone would sign him.

Look at his earrings, that tells you all you need to know.

Well, i like the fact he's more on the edge, and crashing out is likely. And you can anticipate - watching with some excitment, as you know he's going to make moves and generally make F1 more entertaining.

And again, the media make more of this celebrity lifestyle than it is, making out he's out like Rihana. And he is a celebrity.

I wonder if Schumacher will take Massa's seat until 2014 when Vettel's contract ends...

Not when he's had his ass kicked all season by his own team mate, proving he's not got the edge of youth that is needed.

When your younger, you drop things, and move out the way, when your older, they just fall on your toe and you go ouch. Sometimes its like slow motion, you see it hurtling towards big toe, and do absolutly nothing, the message to the vocal chords has been sent, the ouch is unavoidable.

TLDR - Shuys got a poorly big toe, so hes fucked. Thumbs Up

Like when your youn ger, it just does not regster, why Pro footnballers retire at 36, you think MTFU fannys, then you get to 36/37, and it dawns on you, your starting to walk a little like your nan used to. Crying or Very sad
