Im going to have to sound very amature in this post as there are loads of things i wanna find out. Embarassed

Iv had a slight oil leak on my suzuki gs125 (1985) for a while now, its my own fault as when i was fitting a new front sprocket my wratchet slipped and hit a small plastic unit located next to it, this unit is linked to the gear box and tells the dash board what gear your in (what is this unit called?). Ever since this has happend it has had a very slow slight oil leak. Is this just engine oil?

Is fixing the leak a matter of stripping the engine right down and replacing a seal? Will i have to touch the gear box?

Any advice would be much appriciated!

Thanks.

you have whack the gear selector switch. Not sure on the seal but it might just be an ordinary oil seal, post up a pic

It could just be oil from your chain.

I get drops of oil coming from near the front sprocket after I've slapped a load of gear oil on the chain.
