Plenty of time to get up to speed but latest highway code is, I think, 2007.
Theory has plenty of time to revist questions you are unsure of... just go for the "what is the safety-related answer" and you'll do fine.
Read-up on the scoring mechanism for the hazard perception then run a couple of online sims. ____________________ 22PlusY

Download the Highway CODE theory PDF file, ( below )
https://www.justcoachdrivers.com/pdf/TheHighwayCode.pdf
Get revising for the hazard perception you need a disc or to look up the videos they have on the Direct Gov Website,
also if you go on the App store you can find " Hazard perception " app's.
Good Luck Hope You Pass
All the best

Do you drive? I forgot all about my theory until the night before, so I just did some of these which were really useful:
https://www.theaa.com/aattitude/games/hpt.jsp
and relied on the fact that I had been driving for nearly 10 years. Just about passed! You've got AGES! ____________________ What would you do in life, if you knew you could not fail?

The high way code was updated last in 2007,
You have nearly an hour for the 50 questions so just over a min a question, some of them you will only need a small amount of that time giving you longer for questions that you are not so sure about. Just remember to read the question properly and if your not sure you can leave it and at the end go back. remember the right answer is there in front of you on the screen.
with the hazard perception try not to click too much as it thinks you are cheating and marks you at 0 for that clip. just look out for anything that would cause you to brake or change direction for example kids playing football near the road the ball gets kicked in to the road. the hazard(for the test) is when the ball is seen to be coming on to the road not when you see the kids first playing with the ball. most experienced riders/drivers would notice the kids near the road and expect the ball to come out into the road
good luck with the test.
Should probably say I am also a trained driving instructor and this is the same advice i have given to my student's in the past. |

just go find somewhere quiet, practice your u-turns and e-stops.
those are the only 2 things most people really need to practice for.
on the module 1 u turn you can do it 2 ways.
life saver > pull away > roll down the "bay" > lifesaver > start the turn
lifesaver > pull away > roll down the "bay" > stop > lifesaver > start the turn
thats from the examiner himself!
i will say though, even though the bay is pleanty wide enough i personally feel it should be a bit longer in length to get a little more speed.
or just be uber fast with your second lifesaver.
either way, for a newbie rider (not sure how long you've been riding?) its definatly worth practicing with the mod 1 course layout and dimensions. if you have no experience, also practice your figure of 8.
figure of 8 you can go quite wide (but not stupidly wide) so dont think of the 8 as a forward line, more of a sideways line as you can go wider than you can long.
oh!
module 1 bend speed runs!
when you go for the speed runs around the bend, cut across the course at as steep angle as possible so you have more time to line the bike up before you enter the bend. this will make getting the line around the bend easier and let you get a bit more speed going around it.
i think thats solid advice. even though i've failed it 3 times, i've completed the speed runs on 2 seperate tests (didnt bother doing them on the 3rd attempt)
if anything i put is wrong, someone will correct it. ____________________ BCF's biggest cunt list: Cansa, Pits, Rob |
