I can't comment on the vegetable as I thought this might be a sighting of Rogerborg's man arrow - marrow

It might be a courgette - marrows are usually stripey. Either way, they're the same family and can be treated much the same way. |

Does look marrow-esque, but I would check you are certain what it is before eating it.
I recall a case a while ago where an Asian lady mistook Laburnum seed pods for runner beans and served them up to her family.
IIRC they survived, but they all had a spell in hospital as a consequence.
What is the Bengali name for it? ____________________ Space Monkey #7

I think it's a squash/gourd but there are lots of types of them
I had a spaghetti squash that was very similar looking (faded-pattern and shape wise) but it was in yellow.
What you going to make with it? ____________________ smile and be happy. . . .it gets right on everyone's tits! |

It's a summer squash.
I have a garden full of them. You get them in all different colours and textures (even off the same plant).
I like to half them, scoop out the seeds then cover them in olive oil, crumbly salt, a bit of black pepper and roast them in the oven. I then put a spoonful of cream cheese in the hole the seeds came from and cover it with chilli (I actually like veggie chilli for this).
Some of them have soft skin you can eat, others have a hard shell.

Cucurbits for the win.
They include the various named squash varieties (which make excellent soup and when roasted in chunks make for delicious risotto), cucumbers, courgettes, marrows, pumpkins and gourds. |
