Im thinking about purchasing a red one, matches my bike and gear. Two of my college biking mates have one as well, but instead of a mohawk they both have florescent pony tails lol.

Just wondering if anyone has one on their helmets. And whats are you guys thoughts on them?

One of the more amusing things I've seen on the streets of London is a helmet done up to look like a muppet, with the visor as the mouth. A bit like this, but not quite as professional:

What bikertomm said really.

I look at them and think 'Oh look, I bet that person is absolutely ha-ha-ha-ha-hilarious and I bet a night out with them would be jam-packed with assorted 'wacky japery' and comments like "I'm mad, I am".

Then I roll my eyes like this: Rolling Eyes

Yeah, whenever I see a biker wearing one I just think "what a bell-end'

There's a biker round by me that wears one...he's in his late 40s and FAT....and just looks rediculous..you just feel like going up to him and saying "grow up"

I think I'd be more inclined to say something like; "I think you missed the last boat Centurion; your lot left fifteen hundred years ago...."

Ignore the squares. Every non biker is going to assume that you're a kitten murdering mental anyway, so what does it matter if you add a few bikers to the tally of people who think you're a spacker?

As long as you're smiling, that's a win.

Go for it, if you want to do it, why not? After all, its your bike and your helmet (OO-er)

Slight OT, but a good story none the less

I've got dreads (you may have guessed), and I suppose that from a distance I could be mistaken for a girly, (Albeit a 6ft one with the beginnings of a beer belly)

The other day this complete bell end (in an Audi as it happens) was on my tail for about 2 miles, generally being a tit, trying to get past, intimidate me and spook me by revving his big engine, you know the type! (All this was on a mix of narrow roads and town roads)

At the next set of lights, I'm turning left and he is going straight on. He pulls up next to me (His window down as it was a rare sunny(ish) day). He looks across, smirking and shouts "Why don't you get a proper bike eh luv, and learn to ride it while you're at it?" and something else equally original that I can't quite recall (although tits may have been mentioned). Imagine his surprise when I turn around and question, in a loud, deep voice both his parentage and his sexuality whilst giving him my best angry bearded biker glare.

He actually went quite pale. Very Happy

Lights changed to green, and I rode off chuckling to myself, whilst he set off at a steady pace quite obviously avoiding my glare Very Happy

I see the novelty ears constantly around here.

And you can guarantee anyone on a scooter in Bedford tends to be in a tracksuit is accompanying it with a MX lid and goggles. I get over taken constantly by these scooter guys in the city, flying past at 40 in a 30 zone thinking they've just beaten a proper motorbike and feeling quite chuffed, assuming I'm racing in a 30 zone next to a school. The police are literally constantly pulling these guys, it's quite funny to see. Those MX lids are just an instant pull by the police around here it feels like.

I would rather have a camera attached to my lid then a plastic mohawk...

If you want one then get one, imo one of the greatest things about being out riding your bike, concealed by a lid and tinted visor or goggles, is the ability to be your rider persona for a day or a few hours and just step away from real life for a while. If a mohawk helps with that then fuck yeah go for it... I like to pretend i'm either ironman or boba fett when i'm out riding, don't fucking judge me Wink

IMO anything that makes you stand out from the crowd on a motorcycle is a bad bad thing!

Although it does help other motorists to see you...

Now mohawks are obviously just more tat for idiots to roll themselves in....(internal struggle)...but they may also make you safer for a very reasonable price.

Its a dilemma. But not one I'm really struggling with.
