After yesterday's downpour (and the resultant wet feet) I want some new boots (the current TCX ones I've got are _crap_ - the customer support at TCX is also _crap_)
I've seen these Alpine Stars for £130:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251034775514
I don't want to spend much more than this, any good or does anyone have anything better at that price point?

I hope you had the legs of your troos over the top of yer boots.
If the trouser is inside the boot the rain will wick into the boot in seconds.

Hein Gericke sell a Rally Sport which is bullet proof.

I'm on my third pair. In 12 years. All weathers, all bikes, Tracks, Dirt and Road. Thumbs Up

£200 though. Crying or Very sad

Re: Goretex liners - Not a bad idea, but my current ones actually let in a lot of water (due to shockingly poor build quality, the stitching came apart on the 'reinforced' area - I can feel it sloshing around whilst changing gear), I think I'd rather stop it getting in in the first place.
I might have to increase budget to nearer the £200 mark, the Alpinestars SMX-5 WP seem to get good reviews.

Yeah I always wear my trousers over the boot - cheers for the link, they're worth a look too.

I had a pair of Seal Skinz which are 'waterproof' socks. Thich as fook so make your feet hurt. But I guess they work and are cheaper than new boots. Maybe keep one's tootsies toasty too.

J&S' own waterproof boots for £50 saw me through this "wettest summer in a century" very nicely and protected my right foot well when I came off and the bike landed on my foot (not injured in the slightest).

gortex liners and sealskinz are great, your feet will be dry, but water will still get into the boot.
HG did a over boot cover that you pulled over your boots, tucano make a similar thing in various leg lengths https://www.tucanourbano.it/catalogo/index/scarpe_e_copriscarpe
Also they are a lot cheaper than a new pir of boots

If you don't fancy spending a fortune on a tarty pair of A-Stars, have a look on ebay for an old pair of goretex Daytona boots, unless you have odd shaped feet you'll get a pair of travelstars or roadstars for £50-60ish with no troubles and unless they are utterly butchered, they will always scrub up well with a bit of elbow grease. Far superior to boots costing more than twice as much and they will easily outlast anything with a sidi badge Thumbs Up

ghostbikes.com

dont now where abouts you are but they are located in preston, they have a 'factory seconds' lot of boots, all brand new and simply have imperfections. they dont advertise these online but are in their shop.

got myself a pair of oxford bone dry boots in size 12 for £15, still cant figure out what makes them 'seconds' Confused, at £15 im not complaining Very Happy

I've had those boots since September and they haven't let me down, I was beginning to think i needed webbed feet to ride a bike cos id had 3 other different pairs before A*. Not the prettiest boots you will see but certainly practical.

Try them on before you buy tho, if possible, A* are a different size fit to any other boot i bought.

Another Thumbs Up ^ for Sidi Black Rain. Kept my feet dry commuting in the pissing down rain this morning. Zip at the waist of the RST Razor fabric leaked like a sieve though.

Just don't get Oxford Bone Dry boots, because they are not Bone Dry.
