Hi all, getting a new bike this week but my current insurer wont insure it, I have had my insurance for 6 months so would like to swap it over to a cheaper bike so I still get my years no claims.
What would you guys recommend thats cheap to buy and cheap to insure, doesn't even need to be working. Can be sat in my garden insured for the next 6 months.
I asked how much it would be to swap over to my brothers Hyosung gt 125 and they said its the same price as my z750!!
Got a quote for a cheapy 50cc ped (directbikes retro) and that was 670! I pay £752 ATM.
Thanks, Grant

I'd be surprised if they'd reduce the price and give you a refund...

Just buy a 99p bike off eBay, as long as it's below your current price they may even opt not to charge admin fee for switching it over (if you complain politely and for long enough).

Honda CD200 Benley? CB 'Two-Fifty'? Always come up as mega-mizer sub 125 insurance prices. Probably a shed load more in the 150-225 capacity range, provided they dont have liquid cooled engines or knobbly tyres.

Basically what you want is to insure a 'ghost'..... fair enough; frame & engine number or some-one who has one undergoing resto whose details you can 'borrow'.

Would this put your premium for next instance quote up though?

Honda C90 would be a good option !

Why would it put your insurance up? For all intent and purposes you've had a bike on the road for a year without incident. 1 year NCB should bring your insurance down a little.
