Just been out for a ride and can't believe how bad i was. I seem to have regressed back to first time on a bike Embarassed Kangarooing leaving junctions and even managing to do a bit of off road riding Shocked looking at the curb instead of where i was going. I finally got my act together but i scared the crap out of my hubby i think thats another few grey hairs he got today.

Tomorrow is another day and i won't let it get to me...........to much

Try not to think about it too much. My biggest problem is over-thinking everything. Am getting on a lot better now I am just 'doing it'. Do you ever go out on the bike on your own? Sometimes it's easier without an 'audience'..

How can you accidently go offroad? How can you 'revert' to being that bad at riding? Surely you know the rules of the road. And how your bike reacts?

Maybe go to a car park to practice otherwise you could be a danger to yourself and other people. Thumbs Up

I don't want to CPR you, I don't even want to waste a small portion of my 300mins on calling for your ambulance.

Please, get off my road until you are confident that you are not a danger to yourself & other road users.

It is shit like this that brings it down on all of us !

Harsh and really no need...

Everyone has an off day, this was hers, remind me if I ever come across you or your corpse not to bother using any of my 5000 minutes either...

The most important thing about becoming a good driver/rider is consistency.
We need to be not just good drivers/riders, but consistently good ones too.
If you do something (manoeuvre, observation, general riding) fine today and mess up tomorrow, it just means you are still not good enough and need more practice and instruction.

That said, when a 'bad day' happens to a full license holder, that will likely be because of his/her mental state. If something stressed you out, upset you, became stuck in your mind, whatever of that sort, it will have a profound effect on your driving and even more on your riding which requires a lot of concentration. If for whatever reason you cannot provide that amount of concentration, you will be all over the place.
I'm just making a point that there is no such thing as a 'bad day' for a driver/rider who is already at an acceptable standard. Something has happened to make him/her lose concentration, and that 'something' can be consciously identified and controlled so that it does not become an issue again Wink

Oh come on everyone has a bad day but i certainly was not that bad!!!!! everyone who is learning to ride has an off day and don't tell me that you have'nt. Maybe by me saying going off road which by the way was not that serious as it was only me hitting the curb which i know many learners have done having seen one on Saturday do that right in front of me. As for the odd kangarooing that happens to some learners so don't give us that crap about being a danger to myself or other people. This has not happened to me before and i know that i am a safe rider so mysterious_rider and TaiChi get that stick out of your backside and give good advice not the type that you gave me.

Like i said in no way was i dangerous and giving hubby grey hairs was said in fun i was only saying that it was one of those days. This is a form that i find really useful but your comments are not called for!!

You really are such a dick Taichi get you act together and stop repeating yourself i am really concerned about your mental wellbeing and think that you should stay off the road and put your bike into the garage until you get clearance from your mental health doctor.

Taichi - if the law allows a rider to attend a days training course then get on the road unsupervised, for more practice, that is not Fem1s fault.

Fem1: Don't worry, we all have off days, practice makes perfect Thumbs Up

i've had days where i've not been riding as well as I know I can. The other day I was having real trouble following slow traffic at walking pace. i've no idea what was wrong and soon corrected it with just a bit more concentration but it was a "one of those days" things. When that happens it time to conciously think "right now I have to concentrate, do it right, be on the ball and watch out, focus"

Mood is I big factor in riding prformance. I don't let any bad vibes going on effect my riding, I use my time on a bike to get away from anything stressfull, like arse'oles in internet forums for example Smile

Yea, what he said Thumbs Up

Practice Practice Practice you will be fine.

I've been riding for only a week and I'm getting better and much more confident on the road, on roundabouts, in rush hour etc etc

I actually do believe that 2 hours maximum on the road on a CBT is not enough to let people loose on he roads, I know personally I could have done with at least another 4 hours tuition on the road to build my confidence. Luckily I live out of town so was able to get plenty practice on pretty quiet roads, before having to deal with rush hour commutes, but I know a lot of people aren't that lucky.

Get the fuck off my road.

Get back on a car park until you can control a bike in a way that your trainer feels you have reached a level compatible with your own safety & the safety of the rest of the legitimate road users.

If you ever feel that you have regressed to a point that you are both a danger not only to ourself, but to me, my family, my friends & any other legitimate road user . . . Then get the fuck off my road & get yourself back onto a carpark.

You are no better than a drunk driver.

You didn't get enough cuddles as a baby, did you TaiChi?

You are fucking with the feng-shui of the new bikers area. Did you catch that? New Bikers. If you aren't going to be positive to people in here, be a good chap and fuck off would you?

Fem1, don't stress, about the bad day or this tiny-dicked cockjuggler TaiChi.

We all have bad days, TaiChi seems to work his off by being an internet warrior.
