I need to get some tyres for my, YPVS, project bike, so I can start putting it all back together again.
Because of its age, tyre choice is restricted.
My options are, AFAICS, Bridgestone BT45's, Pirelli Sport Demons or Pirelli MT75's, if there are any I've missed feel free to chip in. (Sizes are 110/80/17 Front & 120/80/17 Rear, I could get away with a lower profile, say 70, and go up to a 130 on the back).

So does anyone have any real life comparisons with the tyres I have to choose from?
I have been told, by a guy who has the same bike, that the Sport Demons are better than the BT45's.
Could be they're all much of a muchness, I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

Due to my location, i'm not interested in wet weather performance, Mr. Green , nor longevity, in fact if I could find slicks to fit, I'd fit them, seen a few on the road here! Cool

I have found this site:-

https://www.tyretectrading.com/store/home.asp

They are the only company, I can find, who will post out here, tell me if you know better.

It's an odd tyre choice for me, but I've had both the Continental Conti- Go! and the Conti Twist SM in GS500 sizes, 110 and 130s.

I had no issues what so ever with either until the SM got a puncture so I fitted a BT45.

Like I said, no issues with those, but I've also been fine on BT45s all round.

Believe you can get Pilot Sportys, they seem to wear pretty quick on 125s, so yours probably wont last too long Laughing

Pirelli MT75's

Oooh, nasty. Had these as OE fitment on my NSR125 years back. The BT45s that replaced them felt 10000% better.

The Sport Demons look grippier! Laughing
The BT45's are the OE recommendation, but I don't suppose Sport Demons were around in 1988.

These were the dogs danglies when I had my first LC Rolling Eyes

BT45's are the only choice. The best for RD's full stop.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

I have an AM26 in that size (front) that you can have for free.

Actually I might even pay you.

I have Sport Demons but am a new rider so can't make any comparisons! I haven't had any slips on them on the road (wet or dry) so taken with my relative inexperience, this might mean something..

I use Avon AM22/23 on the valve racer, awesome tyres that a lot of the classic racers use. Get club compound, that is the race one bizzarely, not track compound. pretty expensive but if its grip you're after above all else they are the best. The rear can be had in a 65/130 especially for LC's.

I'll check them out, although mine's got 17" wheels, do they come in 17's?
