Yep, large plastic syringes should be available at a chemist, that's where I got my last one.

machine mart do 500ml stainless syringes, and any garden centre or hardware shop should have various lengths and widths of clear hose.

as for what size you need, no idea. When I changed a calliper on my Landrover a few weeks back I took it in to try the hoses on the nipple. Don't think they'll let you ride your bike in the shop Very Happy

i dunno, aldi let 3 young boys in on thier BMX's. personally i would have grabbed them by the ears and escorted them off the premises purely for health and saftey reasons, letalone the inconsideration for shoppers!

sweet, im a cheap skate on things like this lol.

happy to support local stores blah blah blah but sorry, if its not "worth X cost to me personally" i wont buy it. especially if i can get it cheaper else where.

actually, i dont think its being a cheap skate, i think its just common sense, if you can get it cheaper else where then why spend the extra?

blah what ever lol. thanks suntan

lol i know knight, i think its because i've had to have a talk with my 13 year old cousin about his school work. he got himself suspended today and spent an hour with a copper because he's been berating other school kids and teachers. the school has had enough and got the cops involved.

im not impressed. my nan (his legal guardian since his mother dieD) is not impressed and my mums not impressed.

i wish it was legal to smack kids still, sometimes they need a sharp slap. not to inflict damage, but to shock them.

still....

You don't have a clue how to do this even if you get a syringe.

Pm me if you want my help, this is the third thread I've offered now, internet bs aside, I'd rather a random stranger had working brakes than not.

thanks for the offers guys but i need to learn how to do this. on a side note i need to either drill out the damned holes in the lid for it or (my personal preference) replace the entire brake controls seeing as the brake lever itself is bent.

for now i have the calipers off the bike and will get a thorough cleaning tonight

I have always just bled them a bit whilst topping up fluid, wait for clean fluid to come through and do another 100ml or so

Halfords / ECP tools section maybe (they certainly do smaller ones)?

Get a brake fluid changing kit that includes one?

Craft shop?

Amazon, eBay - medical, vetinary and/or scientific, educational supplies.

Do a bit of social networking and find a far flung relative or friend of a friend who works in the NHS or a school and have them snarf one for you...
