eBay feedback

Is it just me or do people not care about feedback anymore? I'd say less than half of the people I sell things to actually bother to leave me feedback. Even the bloke who bought my KTM didn't bother I'm sure if they weren't happy I'd hear about it, but when they are, you don't hear a thing. I've tried leaving feedback first (as a seller) and it doesn't make much of a difference. I'm just a private user, just over 300 feedback, 8 years on the site, no negative etc. Thoughts?

eBay is shit now. It is a last resort for selling. Only good for buying stuff off sellers who deal with large quantities of product.

I've been on eBay for over 10 years and people were moaning about how so many people didn't leave feedback, 10 years ago, I don't think much has changed in that department, well apart from sellers being blocked from leaving negative, that was criminal!

I've been having a clearout and have found the same - it would just be nice to know your item's been received OK and you can forget about it.

I left some positive feedback for a buyer saying 'I hope you got it OK' but nothing was returned. So if I get no feedback, they get no feedback..er.. back.

At least most of them bloody pay up in the first place, its the fickle twats who are worst.

I sold some childrens outdoor play equipment a while back and was shocked at a final valuation fee of around 10% wtf???

Then the buyer after speaking on the phone to arrange collection decided it wasnt what it wanted

It was only when I cancelled the transaction did I notice the fee on my statement, listed again and guy came to look, cancelled listing arranged a private deal

ive just sold some old bike parts on there, a cracked mudguard and some damaged clocks. The guy who bought the mudguard didn't bother to leave me feedback, but was quick to email me when I hadn't clicked the sent button the day after, and the other guy complained because they were damaged

I only use it to buy stuff now. Even then its only cheap stuff, not worth the hassle these days.

I have the opposite problem, with the seller not leaving feed back.
Also Ebay fees are gay.

Iv sold just under 20000 items so far this year on ebay and I have had 8534 feedback in return. And the settings automatically leave feedback to the buyer once payment had been received. The feedback system majorly lets Ebay down. Its very unfair imo.

Yes, I had noticed that fewer people leave feedback. People can be quite ignorant in general when they want to be.

I sold a large item which was posted by courier, and sent a follow-up email checking they'd received it safely. They ignored the email and never left feedback.

I'm not as big a fan of eBay as I used to be, as others have said the fees are getting ridiculous, and leaving anything other than sparkling feedback is all but banned. There aren't the bargains any more that there used to be, all you get is page after page of Buy It Now items at retail prices.

I wish there was a decent alternative place to sell things. Ebay fees are way too high and buyers always mess you about.

I dont care about feedback. I have good feedback at the moment and dont need any more, so i dont really care if people leave me any.

I ask honestly, I've never even considered using eBay to sell stuff, because it looks like you get triple-penetrated by listing fees, PayPal fees and scammer/mental buyers.

I wonder if eBay's income is declining actually or less people are using it, because I keep getting emails offering "Free Listing Weekends" without the listing fees.

Which sounds nice until you realise that they are only letting you off the £1 or so it costs to list the item, but will still clobber you for the final value fees and Paypal fees and reserve fees and Buy It Now fees and extra pictures fees and all the other fees they can think of. It's like buying a Ryanair flight...

Think the problem is it is so easy for a buyer to get their money back whether or not the item was listing incorrectly or not.
Why do you even need to look at feedback if you know ebay will hand you your money back for any complaint.
It is a real pain, I always leave feedback but have sold about 20-30 items in past few months and only received two or three back.
