so what's everyone got planned for the weekend? today i plan on finishing removing a v6 from a mg zs, tomorrow i need to put another coat of paint on a v6 that's going in my mr2 and have a look at the zxr, it's developed a ticking noise, my moneys evenly split between either a blow at the header joint or a worn cam follower and give the chain a clean & lube it hasn't been done for ages. sunday if the weathers much kop a ride out in the peak district will be order of the day if not ill probably just go for a run and lounge about the rest of the day

so what you upto folks?

A weekend off the beer for me - I've just realised I've put on over a stone in the last year, so I need to shift it. My lifestyle is healthy so it must be the beer!

Friday night shall be spent cooking and sleeping.

Saturday watch qually, fix CB rear brake, play with C90 race bike, go to gym.

Sunday watch gp, go to Ardingley classic bike show, cook some sort of Roast.

Tonight I'm off out in Soho to see a mate and have a few beers. Nothing heavy.

Saturday, off to take a second look at a flat I'm interested in. Need a lot of work, but need to scratch beneath the surface a bit to see if it's worth the effort.

Then down to Brighton for Saturday afternoon/night, then back to recover on Sunday Smile

Cycle tonight when I get home, then a couple of beers and a bit of wine - the boss gets a lie in tomorrow so I'll be up to feed the kids.

Spend some time with them in the morning, no doubt with some living room disco action. Bit of tidying and cleaning, might get the bulbs planted in the garden for the spring.

Hopefully get out on the cycle again late afternoon, then maybe a mix in the evening, especially as no MoTD.

Sunday I'm doing an easy 60 mile ride in the New Forest, then back home for some food with some friends, followed by some light drinking and the traditional Sunday night washing foldathon.

Livin' the dream.

Next weekend I'll be stoned out of my box in the 'dam, which will inevitably be less active, but equally fun.

It's only been 7 years since i went to the cinema for a non-kids film and only 2 years since i went out for a beer, so i'm not due to do any of that sort of stuff again for ages yet Very Happy

Bike needs loads doing but has to wait till i can get parts and there's still other things above them on The List Sad

But we live in a beautiful place so lots of cheap/free things this weekend. Himself has football on saturday morning then maybe take his scooter out for a scoot about on the prom and an ice-cream after lunch.

Sunday if the weather's nice i'll take him out for a walk round the coast somewhere or to one of the play-parks with a picnic. Possibly a gander out the car boot as we need a cycle carrier so we can get our bikes off the mountain and go for cycles.

The in-reserve emergency rainy-day plan is War of The Worlds as i got a cd of the radio broadcast cheap recently. His mate's dad has invited us over for popcorn, open fire and terrifying them both with it the next time it's p1ssing down Mr. Green

EDIT: actually it's more glam than i thought as i just spotted the postie diligently leaving a parcel on my doorstep for someone to pinch Doh! and he's early today - here at the the crack of lunchtime Rolling Eyes

Red hair dye (ordered when i saw how fooking ginger my hair looked in the sun Shocked ). So this week's saturday night beer and girlie things will include a shower cap and red stains on everything. So that's shut me up Mr. Green

I had plenty of nothing to do until this morning when I came outside and found the hire bike on its side resting against a tree.

How to I pop out a dent in the tank?

I've got to get my Triumph to the local Triumph dealer even though the reg rec is fried and the battery isn't charging. Luckily I think the FZR400 battery is the same so I'll have to carry that with me.

After that I'm going to clean and probably de-sticker the FZR400, and then take some pictures so I can sell it.

On Sunday I'm supposed to be going out for lunch with the wife's relatives... That'll probably do me for Sunday, the rest of the day will be chilling and watching TV.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Recreating the famous '1 guy 1 jar' video?
(I guess the pressure cooker is to sterilise the jars prior to insertion)

As for me, I'm off down to Brighton on Saturday night for the leaving bash for an old mate of mine who is emigrating to Oz.

I've known him since I was 11 (so 26 years now) and will be sorry to see him go. One thing I can confirm is that it will be a piss-up and drug-fest of epic proportions.

If you don't hear from me again (due to death from alcohol poisoning, drug o/d or imprisonment), it's been nice chatting with y'all.

Thumbs Up

Tomorrow, I'm having a new sofa delivered. Other than that, I'll be designing a UV exposure box, so I can do PCBs at home. Already ordered up the parts, so instead of buying one new for ~£120, I'll have a self-built one for ~£30. Much lower power consumption too, which is nice (LEDs in series, innit).

Sunday, I'm going to be spending some serious time working on the GS, to see if I can chase down that electrical fault. I'm hoping it's just a bit of knackered loom, as opposed to requiring new parts. Regardless, I'll be spending a lot of time with a multimeter and the wiring diagrams.
