so changing out the brake fluid, my resevior cap screws where siezed and rounded off. tried drilling them out not to much avail. the gear lever is bent anyway so i figured i'd just replace the entire brake control unit.
ordered this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261105087102?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
i like that it has adjustable lever possitioning. the cap is freaking ugly but who really cares about that?
just wondering how long its likely to be before it goes kaput! ____________________ BCF's biggest cunt list: Cansa, Pits, Rob |

I would think it will be fine for a 125cc and probably better than the stock if its a chinese bike. On the other hand it could be a pile of crap, just keep your eye on it as I'm sure your aware brakes are pretty important ____________________ It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.

CMPO do the genuine article for not much more. Just lightly copper grease the reservoir screw threads before fitting, to stop them rusting in place this time.
EDIT: Too late, just seen that you've already ordered that one. ____________________ Chris

Amusingly enough, you've not been trolled once in this thread. I expect that this will change, though.
Fitting a master cylinder and lever from an unknown source, with a 'generic' label attached to it is a potential recipe for utter disaster. As cheap and cheerful as the Chinese 125s are, the brakes are designed for the bike*. You have no idea as to what kind of hydraulic pressure that lever is designed to give, compared to the stock lever. Not to mention the fact that what you've highlighted prior to know is a minor fix, which is easy enough to perform.
As has been said outright to you, this is not a wise purchase. Fix the lever you have, replace the bolts that are knackered. There is no point in buying a generic no-name part to replace something that's as important as the front brake.
*Typically a design that's been either cloned or bought from an established manufacturing source, admittedly. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

The fact that you failed to drill out a couple of shitty little screws from the top of a master cylinder reservoir totally amazes me.
I usually manage to complete that task within the space of five minutes using a hand brace. All you need is a vaguely sharp drill bit, a new example of which can be obtained for less than a pound.
So. Taking into account the amount of skill, time and effort it takes to complete that one spanner job. I think you're onto a loser trying to fit an inferior quality, non-standard master cylinder to an acceptable standard.
Don't kid yourself. I just paid that much for a service kit for my master cylinder. You can't make an entire master cylinder, clamp and lever for £24 and expect it to hang together. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. hmm thats crappy news. should have known it was "imported from china and sold for more in the uk".
still, its worth a shot, i mean if its utter crap then they'll have to take it back, simply because it wouldnt be fit for purpose.
will report back on it when it arrives, i'll chuck it through tests every 10mph (10,20,30,40,50,60) and see how it gets on. obviously each of those tests would be "emergency stop" braking conditions. ____________________ BCF's biggest cunt list: Cansa, Pits, Rob |

The more I think about it I would be seriously worried about using that on your bike now. I think it would be excellent on something like a cheapy pit bike for offroad, but if that thing decides to blow your gonna be fucked. Imagine you have to brake hard and it fails on you when your least expecting it! In all fairness I would probably use it myself, but there again I normaly end up paying the price Did you buy it today? Maybe you could email and cancel your order. I am pretty sure you can buy the whole assembly including brake caliper for your bike at around £50. ____________________ It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.
