So seeing the advert on Channel 4 about voting about what you want your police force to focus their efforts on.

I decided to check it out: https://www.channel4.com/mypcc

Put some votes in and then the results were, sorted:

  • 12% Street Robbery
  • 12% Violent Crime
  • 08% Knife Crime
  • 03% Organised Crime
  • 03% Sexual Offences
  • 00% Prostitution
  • 00% Shop Lifting
  • 00% Speeding

Only accounts for 38% though... Confused

My favourite one is highlighted in bold... seems nobody thinks speeding is a problem in my area. Hopefully that means they'll focus less money on it and more time in to other things...

Anyone else voted for their area?

Speeding is the most profitable crime for them though, everything else is excess paperwork for no reward Wink

My area would be simply anti-social behaviour, as in, racial verbal full on physical attacks, happens alot

Couldn't see the option for:

"When a call comes in we'll respond to it, because you know, it's our job like....allegedly".

Load of bollocks anyway, they just want to know how to fill in their paperwork during their 14hr coffee break to fatten up the stats.

Does seem a little incomplete. There was an option for car theft but not bike theft... do we not matter?

I'd like the police to make all jailbait wear bin bags in public to stop me nearly crashing when I finish work. Laughing

They don't mention bad driving.

Speeding isn't an issue in my area. Rank bad driving is rife, killing people and is getting worse. I'm pretty sure many of them are unlicenced/uninsured too.

I think that's probably because we all get tarred under the same brush; "All speeders are dangerous and reckless drivers."

If you're driving badly and under the speed limit, it's perfectly acceptable. Rolling Eyes

I'd like to feel the police work on a prevention not cure approach to crime, like they say they do with speeding.

When a bike is stolen in your area, the police know damn well where to find it and usually the likely family involved in the crime.

They should then adminster an RPG to the front door.

It would begin with a scene much like the airport but instead, in a Job Centre.

Educating the chavscum to drink their cans of cider in their own BACK gardens, where the rest of us who work hard for a living don't have to see or listen to them.

0% for speeding in this area as well.

Anyone who chooses Speeding from that list of offences is a complete moron though.

The results of the poll won't stop them launching another crackdown on speeding and other minor victimless minor road traffic offences.

I'd have them baton charge anyone who steals my Goddamn point before I get a chance to make it. Mad

I despair that "traffic offences" and "exceeding an arbitrary number on a sign decided by someone who's never been there" are now indistinguishable. Thumbs Down

Thats it, apparently people want speeding to be sorted out, lets put everywhere a 20mph zone and install loads of cameras! Nobheads.
