Hello,
I am 17, I currently ride a 125cc and I have done for about 12 weeks. I know it's abit soon but I am thinking about getting my RAS licence because if I don't get it before January I won't be able to get a bigger bike until I'm 19 or 21 or whatever the law is changing too.
I was wondering if there are any loopholes or anything allowing me to do this possibly somewhere else in the EU? Or any particular place which is good and fairly cheapish (I live in East Yorkshire). Or just any way in which I can get my licence before January a little easier then it's proving at the moment.
Any help would be appreciated |

The only EU states that I've heard about require you to be a resident in order to book tests. There may be one that welcomes you with open arms, but I don't know about it.
When's your theory booked for? You can keep checking for cancellations, and if you've budgeted for travelling to get a license, then you can afford to eat some lost fees to shave even a few days off.
There's nothing hard in any of the UK tests, they're just daft and annoying, and you can fail on silly errors. So, don't make any. It really is that easy. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yeah, It's just with me being a fairly new rider I can't afford to be having to retake it
I'm just hoping it all goes to plan, or I'm stuck with my 125 for another year and a bit |

Good luck with it, you've just about got time to get it done. By the way, you'd get a lot more responses posting in New Bikers or General Bike Chat. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

You'll get a licence for the sub-category that you use for module 2.
Then there's some contradictory waffle about before-and-after test bikes, but as I read it, the statement above is correct: all that will matter is what type of bike you use to pass the module 2 test, which can be smaller - but not bigger - than that used for module 1.
It's going to be down to DSA Derek on the day though. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
