Avatar less than 10kb ????

How are people achieving such low size pics?

The smallest I can manage with photoshop is 36kb, that's everything as low as it goes.

i did this faff with mine, then read someone's post about using the thumbnail on *insert name of one of the photo things i can't remember which one tho - sorry*

Sounds like you have a 'busy' avatar with lots of pixels - maybe try 'smart blur' to lose a bit of detail but keep edges sharp.

sorted it for now, although it looks a bit naff, I think it ended up less than 100 pixels wide.

(a bit naff that avatars have to be less than 10kb tbh).
