My visor is constantly dusty and gets smudged very easy, whats the best way to clean it? I have been using a spectacles wipe but that just seems to add more dust.

You could spend a small fortune on a plethora of different visor cleaning solutions, wipes and sprays................or you could just wipe it over with a J-cloth and warm soapy water (which also helps reduce fogging and helps rain to run off the surface as beadlets).
I generally give my visor a clean with warm washing up water before i pile the dishes into the sink!

Thanks man, sounds simple enough, do you do inside with washing up liquid too?

Microfiber cloth and breath. Unless really dirty, then as above. Soapy water. Best to find a nice tight weave microfiber as it is usually better quality and is less susceptible to creating static, so less dust.

Other than getting ripped off Laughing

I just use hot water and a paper towel. Gets the flies off easily.

Water and kitchen paper. Tesco Value kitchen paper. If I'm at work and it's really dirty on both sides, I'll 'borrow' some washing up liquid from the staff room and use hot water. And yes my bum hole is squeaking due to my tightness. Thumbs Up

Cheap-ass furniture polish.

I find it gets flies off very well, rain sticks to the visor less, and it comes up very clear.

I'll also, if it's been a particularly grubby commute, give it a rinse and a wipe down with damp paper towels and hot water when I arrive at the office. Don't let the road grit dry on and they last longer, I have heard.

If you find you're getting a lot of dust sticking to the visor from whatever you are using to clean it, try moistening the visor with your breath, or just use a damp cloth instead of a totally dry one. Thumbs Up

If your lid is plastered with bugs, try getting a piece of kitchen roll, soak it with warm water and then lay it onto the bug encrusted surface. Leave it for 5~10 minutes then just slide it off. Voila, all the bugs go with it. *Slide, don't lift, else the bugs won't go with it. Works well on the front of the bike too.

Ride in the rain more!

I very rarely clean my helmet because the rain+wind keeps it clean enough for me.

The rare occassion I clean my helmet/visor is when it's sitting around and the bugs are annoying me. When I do clean it... wet wipes or wet toilet paper.
