I'd like it extended to the God Bless America point of view. People who use their mobile phones in the cinema. Facebook drones full stop. Audi drivers. Reality TV stars, producers and viewers. Anyone who uses the phrase "passive aggressive". Need I go on?

We have an overpopulation problem of about 5+ billion (just ask Kissinger, Rockefeller, Gates et al). We really need to get cracking. Just give everyone an assault rifle, plenty of ammo and we're ready to go.

Bonus: The first to go will be whingey, whiney fucking gun control advocates, since they won't use them to defend themselves.

So waddya say? Great idea or what?

I've been a fully employed taxpayer ever since I left school, so yes I think that more effective measures need to be considered to deal with long-term spongers.

....but I don't think borderline genocide is a viable option Shocked

I don't think the homeless are classified as a race. Some of them may be lacking a chromosome or two, or it may have dissolved due to massive alcohol or other substance abuse, but strictly speaking I don't think they count as a race, nationality, ethnicity or creed. Granted there may be more than a few Romanian Gypsies doing the Big Issue in this manor but they aren't homeless, they mostly have council provided housing in Longsight and elsewhere, so it's just another blag to add to the begging, fake gold selling, etc.

Having been homeless and being currently in a position of single mother on benefits i am bound to disagree with a lot of what you've said. However, i'm inclined to agree with the system of vouchers.

Some of the kids around where we live have little in the way of clothes or shoes bought for them, miss meals daily and are generally not given a sh1te about. Meanwhile the mums go out on the lash several times a week. Drives me fooking spanner at times. Vouchers for food and kids clothes at least would ensure they are clothed and fed. But since there isn't a cheap and easy way to administer such a system the powers that be will never bother with it.

I won't go into the cash 'grants' paid under certain circumstances. . . . .or more importantly the lack of checking up that goes on there Evil or Very Mad

I kind of agree about further children too tbh. The CSA should actually collect from fathers and not be a shower tards who seem to hammer the living sh1t out of one bloke but then completely ignore another. But mothers should also be responsible. In hospital and at all follow-up appointments after having a baby contraception is banged on about a lot 'oops i got pregnant again, how did that happen?' is a bit of a sh1te excuse in most cases imo. There's plenty of options available. The lack of accountability for pregnancy after pregnancy by various jobless-wonder males is just being rewarded atm.

It probably won't change tho. Tbh i'd only be 'meh' about the abuse of power if a secret government plot was hatched to lace some water supplies with contraceptives Neutral

The 'austerity' we're all living under is a direct result of the mortgage-backed securities fraud, the libor fraud, etc. Yes - major crime costing us all billions and billions!

Compare the 'drip drip' bilge of leaky old boats to the torrent of water rushing into HMS Sheffield after it got an Exocet missile - that's roughly on a par with dolers vs. bankers.

If anybody needs to be executed it's the bwankers and the public schoolboys who cover up for them. A return to state-issued currency based on something REAL rather than this fiat shit we have would be a start, then there would be enough prosperity for more jobs.

Make it fashionable to respect people and maintain relationships, have extended families and the welfare bill goes down to the point where welfare becomes largely obselete. People would then have more SELF respect too, and not wish to place a burden on others.

Finally ban rags like the Daily Mail until they produce softer, more absorbant pages with perforations Thumbs Up

The only thing that I agree with in this thread.

Oh no, benefits are wasting money!

Meanwhile, 700 billion goes to a bottomless pit, nothing happens, we are still in recession, but the government is now 700 billion in debt to the people it just gave the 700 billion to... Rolling Eyes

But I do still believe that many benefits should not be given. But priorities!

Vouchers you say?

Ok so what stops person with voucher lurking outside a shop and selling them to you for 90p on the £1 to get what they want?

Instant 10% discount for me.

Laughing are you in the civil service?

Alcohol is supposed to require photo ID as well, it never stopped us in the 80s from getting somebody else to buy for us. Or 18+ films.

All that will happen is I'll ask him to buy X Y and Z for me, which is on the 'approved' list. Then I'll hand over 90% of what it cost, at which said person goes in and buys whatever he wants.

And thankfully the Social Fund is being reformed and this is one of the (many) options that is being looked at.

Mondeo Man, why don't you do us all, and yourself a favour and fuck off, you crashing bore.

Have to say I rather agree with concept, broadly speaking.

I learned a bit about Pol Pot. To be honest I actually totally understood his ideals about the most important people being the working masses, and the (rather sweeping term) city folk were the ones causing and exacerbating materialistic and consumerist values. It's just a shame he became a complete fucking psycho and turned his 'grassroots' socialist regime into one of the worst, and least remembered, genocides of the 20th century!

These general dregs you talk about, it's true that they are a drain on society, but, unfortunately, society as a whole is a drain on humanity. The bigger picture can't be fixed.

I have never in my life sponged off the state. The only time I worked for the state was the military, and as it was national servce we didnt get paid. After that, I stayed on to generate funds for my education. I never ever took money for nothing.

Welfare should be banned. Make them build roads and do other services for society. At the end of the day you dont get a cheque, but a pot of food. A small one if you are single, a slightly bigger one if you have a kid and so on, but up to a limit. No bigger for more than 2 kids. If you have more kids, the kids get fed but not the parents.

If they dont like it, well flip hamburgers, go into the army, anything.

The unemployed need to be made to work on community upliftment projects. Give them food and housing by all means, but demand a return to the society that is paying for it.

The state should be a means of support till you get back on your feet, not a teat to suck off. And in exchange it should demand something back in exchange.

Making people do work would cost the country money to set it all up, which i why i assume they dont do it.
Its not as simple as walking into McDonalds and getting a job on the spot. There are loads of people applying to every job in this country.

Most of the infrastructure is already there though, in the form of court mandated community service for asboids.

Personally, I'm all for work for the dole. If it was done properly, it could be used to train people into employable skills. At the moment, most of the long term unemployed are completely fucking useless. Only good for turning Greggs pasties into shit.

Teach them, with threats and hardship if necessary. With the way the population is aging and the corresponding drain on NHS resources, the time to tackle it is now, or OPs ridiculous proposal will be more than half serious in 50 years.

Except how to you deal with the problem. That if you force people to do jobs for JSA especially in useful stuff. That it won't displace employees on livable wages?

For instance the council hires people to clean the streets already. I do not know what they are paid but it must be £6.08 an hour. Why pay min wage when you can get people on JSA i.e £52 a week?

Or even worse the corporates fire paid employees and replace them with JSA claimants. Tesco did this recently until they got some seriously bad publicity. So they cancelled it for a bit, but are doing it again.

This has happened throughout the USA. Where paid employees were replaced by Welfare claimants. Company got a severe reduced wage bill they made big profits.

Its also happened about 150 years ago right here in England. Mill owners would sack older workers, who could demand more pay. Instead they would hire children instead who they could pay almost nothing.

Secondly WHAT EMPLOYABLE SKILLS?

Everything is being automated, outsourced or we bring Indians in to do it.

For example Krad's example of burger flipping?

https://www.thefiscaltimes.com/Articles/2011/06/06/Could-Fast-Food-Robots-Steal-McJobs.aspx

Oops its about 2-4 years away from being automated.

Military? Armies of the past are gone, its all about remote drone based warfare now.

Even Wildgoose's recent post about HGV driver job for life is under threat. What with automated vehicles being introduced.

https://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27575051/ns/technology_and_science-science/t/worlds-largest-truck-goes-robotic/

That was 4 years ago.

This is today

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/09/25/google_automatic_cars_legal/

Only 15 years ago mobile phones were a rarity, as were computers, now everybody has one. And tech is accelerating in development.
