... of not having a bike!

I was saving up to get myself an SR125. Got myself a new job which meant that I had to buy myself a car as it was a bit further away. Then found out I hated my new job so am going back to my old one! (it's a long story - which you can read all about on the Off Topic board if you care)

Now I have a car that I don't want that I will almost definitely lose money on when I sell it. I borrowed the money off my mother to buy it so have to pay her back all the cash.

So my bike fund will be in the negative.

I have all the gear (helmet, gloves, locks etc.) but no damned bike! Grrrrr! Evil or Very Mad

It'll be summer next year before I have the cash! *sob*

Ouch. You don't want a bike over the winter that much, if you'll be travelling long distances?

Plus, if I was you and desperately wanted a bike, I'd find a second small job and work a little bit every week, to get the funds.

I was hoping to have the money ready for Jan/Feb when the second hand bikes are a bit cheaper. Then if there where any nice days I could have gone off for a ride. *sigh*

How much are you looking at spending on a SR125 type bike, you can pick one up on www.adtrader.co.uk for a few hundred.

Yeah, I only want to spend about £700. The only problem is that by the time the bills and mortgage are paid, I only have about £150 a month spare (as long as I don't go out at all!)

I'm sick....

Same here, I was without a bike for 1 and a half years, it was terrible !!! Only thing that kept me going was knowing I was gonna get one sometime in the future Very Happy

Just pursue some other interests in the meantime and get a good, decently paid job if you can Very Happy

The time will fly by...

Yeah, I have waited 30 years to get a bike, another 6 months shouldn't hurt.

It's just a pity that I got so close to having the money, only to waste it on a car that I don't want (knowing my luck that'll probably break down before I get a chance to sell it - I'm still waiting for the V5 to turn up so it is just sitting in my drive).

And hopefully it'll be a really crappy winter so I couldn't use it anyway Laughing
