Here is a pic of my pride and joy mtx 125. When i found her she was in a sorry state and this is the result after two months hard graft. This bike is my daily commute so all work has been done on the hop. I have re painted the frame, changed the fork boots ( a pig of a job as i didnt have a stand at the time). I have put on a new sprocket and chain, added lots of shiny blue bits here and there and recovered the seat this past weekend. I stripped and cleaned the carb out as it had been stood for over 8 years, changed all the fluids and put in a new air filter and box, given her some mini indicators and removed the silly rack at the back. Replaced fuel and oil pipes with some new red ones. I did all the number plates and numbers by hand with some donated offcuts from a local vinyls shop. Have changed the exhaust for a big one and there are still a few more bits to do but just wondered what you guys think so far. Have I done her justice and brought her into the 21st century??? keep in mind that she is nearly 20 years old now peeps!!!

And heres how she looked when I first found her!!! Why oh why did Honda produce the MTX in this horrible colour??? Should have left the orange to KTM and stuck with proper fighter red!!!

fraid so bud - i may be alone on this one but i think its the only colour for them Laughing

i chucked the bodywork off my 125 onto my 200 so i could use it while saving up a few quid to get the tank painted....

Well they are still the same plastics but dont look so bad now the seat is done. Any tips for getting the shine back on em???. I notice you got a dep on there . Is it the full system and if so did you have to rejet the carb?

Hey I still have the orange seat cover if ya want it?? No rips or tears just need a good old clean. I just realized who you were as well !! I never received the plastics set from the guy on eBay. Ended up getting a PayPal refund. Be warned fellow mtxers he is a thief. Tried to contact him six times and heard nothing so avoid at all costs. Have found another supplier though but you have to purchase em all seperately.

I agree with "69chris". The orange plastics look best on the MTX. But the blue seat cover is crap.
Check out my 200:

By the way the plastics I fitted are those from ebay.

Does the DEP pipe increase the Performance?

Looks good. There are two sellers doing the plastics. One selling them as a set and one as separates with combined shipping. I tried to buy as a set. I chose the latter and was my mistake. I think the blue seat makes the bike.

Looks a great bike, the Blue seat is cool.

When I was a boy a bloke around the corner from me used to own one very similar. Cool

If you like the blue seat, you'll like my second MTX.

Engine needs to be rebuilt in winter. Additionally I fitted some TKC 80s.

Yes, everything is original. I pictured my other MTX above (disc brake).

It would be great if you manage to make your MTX look like the one you attached. Razz

Not at all! What I wanted to say is that I would prefer a black seat cover. I DO NOT think the colour is bad but the quality of the original HONDA seat cover. Almost all blue seats I've had were damaged. Sad

I think the blue seat cover fits your MTX quite well. Looks about 10 times better than that orange one. Thumbs Up

Keep going mate. Thumbs Up

Some nice MTX's in this thread!

I do think the Black/yellow option is the best colour scheme for them followed by the white with blue seat& red frame etc.
