lids direct packaging?

just got my jacket from lids direct...

box was poorly packaged, the tape was not attached to the top of the box, which you could reach into without moving the tape. and the bottom is water damaged like it's been dropped in a puddle for a couple mins, and the jacket was wet.

it's a waterproof jacket so doesn't matter, but i'd be damned if i'd buy a helmet off them with such poor standards of postage!

I would think that the problem is more due to City Link.

Yesterday they delivered the wrong package to work. Took them four hours to find their mistake and return with the right one (my new bike tyres). Despite us phoning and faxing them to tell them about their mistake they never contacted us.

A couple of years ago we paid for 24 hour shipping to get parts for my sons bike, the package took 5 days. Had the shipper told us the parts were ready I could have walked to their place and back on the first day (Edinburgh to Livingston!)

They are all incapable of proper service. They do not have the basic equipment required to provide realistic customer service. This is down to the fact that most of the staff either don't give two fcuks and or are thick as shite. Royal Mail beats them every time and for less money too. I can be at home everyday for delivery but couriers seem to be reluctant to advise delivery schedules better than between 07:00 and 18:00. And God help you if you miss a delivery.... Cnuts.

I have bought helmets from them, never a problem. They were in their original boxes and helmet bags. Can't comment about other gear though.

Maybe you were just unlucky.

my boots came from them and were in good packaging, its couriers that are the problem, theres no end of videos on youtube of them throwing stuff over fences, leaving them outside in rain etc....

yeah i'd be inclined to say the state of the box was due to the courier as well. but it would have been better served in one of them sealed plastic bags, rather than a crappy box which wasn't taped up properly.


city link annoy me, and more specifically my local city link driver annoys me even more.

i paid £19.99 for something to be delivered the next day once. and it didn't show up.

when he delivered it the following day he explained how because he hadn't had the order through before midday on the day i ordered it, it was his personal policy that he rolled those deliveries over into the next day.

thus i paid £20 for a service i didn't receive.

city link said they have no such policy and would have words with him about it. he's been better since, but he's still a wanker

there is a pub round here that is a bit rough and they use loads of carling glasses

i happen to know the gaffer a bit and out of every 24 delivered he gets 5 or 6 complete ones
