What should you look for?
I need to change my front tyre, my rear one is a conti milestone, but a conti milestone is too expensive, considering i could get a Metzeler for about £20 less.

So what should i look for when mismatching tyres, or does it not matter too much when actually on the road

I mix and match, but all my tyres are radial.

Mixing crossply tyres with radial is iffy, one way is illegal... Can't recall which way Laughing

Try to avoid mixing crossply/bias belted and radial, but if you really must then the only safe* and legal combination is crossply/bias belted front and radial rear.


*I'm using safe as a relative term here, obviously...

what the hell is crossply and radial? I mix and match as I don't care. Laughing Never had trouble. Often go kneedown.

If you have matching tyres currently and are happy with the handling, isn't it worth £20 to get another matching tyre, and then not having to worry about if the tyres will work well together or not.

It is getting close to winter. Any selection of tyres will work like shit.

Might as well try a range eh Wink

This, plus i found out the front tyre on my bike isnt even in production anymore, and is a different make and model to the back tyre, so it cant get any worse?

Im pretty sure every tyre suitable for my bike is radial type.

100/90 19r if anyone fancies having a look for me. I have conti milestone tyre on the back
