I was out riding earlier when the oil warning light came on. :o Since I was kinda in the middle of nowhere I stopped at the first (Statoil) station I could find and bought some 2 stroke. Now Im used to getting oil thats made for bikes but this oil just said "for use with all 2 stroke land based vehicles".
Sounds ok then, right? I wasnt going to risk seizing the engine so I poured it on in. It was yellow and im used to pink. Does it sound ok to you guys?? Confused
Cheers,
Shamrock.

Catrol TTS and R2 is yellow. I used to use Silkolene which was red/pink. But what ever oil you buy from a petrol station is gonna be shit. I'd of bought it but kept the bike at low revs then as soon as i got home i would of drained all that oil out and put some proper fully synthetic oil in. Its better to have shit oil in than none at all aint it.

Not true.....

I've found Esso sell Mobil1 racing 2stroke oil which has been the best for my bike.
Wink
It is fully synthetic and therefore expensive. Crying or Very sad

I use Motul600 racing oil on my NSR.. Ive tried alot of different types and have found out that this one is the one that works best. The bikes performance is better too with this oil.

Just a little reminder: If u are afraid of running out of oil, remember that the reserve is about 1/3 of the whole tank. On my NSR i was on a long trip and on my way home the oil lamp lighted up. But i managed to get home, witch was over 100miles away and i even had a little bit of oil left when i got home. So u got more reserves than u think Smile

You should still have easily 25 miles of oil left, so just cruise to the nearest actual bike shop and get some full synthetic stuff.

I drained the tank a got some semi-synthetic Rock Oil. The guy in the bikeshop said that semi-synthetic is just as good as fully synthetic for a bike like mine. Ive an NS 1 btw.
