hey guys, needing a lil advice Very Happy
my mtx200 needs a new exhaust, mines rotted to death and beyond the help of a welder !!!!
so, iv had a lil a search about and that has determined that an mtx125 exhaust is different to the 200....... different how i dont know tho Laughing

anyhow, do we think a 'performance' exhaust meant for a 125 would work on the 200 ??

iv been offered a complete 125 that happens to have an aftermarket (big one or something) exhaust on it so (hopefully) that'll sort that problem out as 200 exhausts seem a tad thin on the ground these days !!!

cheers guys Smile

have had a simular problem with a KMX200 in the past, being a rare bike now, standard exhausts are difficult to get hold of. my exhaust had blown a massive hole in the header pipe which ran right up the seam.

if you manage to get the 125 pipe to fit it will strangle it. i tried a fresco/bigone pipe designed for the 125 on that and it made a lot of noise and a lot less power to the point where it struggled to pull 6th gear. had to absolutely wring its neck to get it up to speed.

In the end I got the original pipe repaired and put it back on. noticed it went much better straight away.

keep searching around ebay for a standard pipe.

same situation, the vibration broke the seam on the header pipe, which caused the metal to become brittle and blew a large hole in it.

after trying the Big One pipe which didn't work for me either, my dad managed to replace the damaged section and braze welded it, A good few coats of stove paint and was good to go again.
