Neutral Really?!

Be more gentle on throttle and braking.

That's about it.

Is this serious?!

2 years and never caught in the rain? Really?!

Just don't be an idiot. Don't expect to go fast into corners, don't be stupid with the throttle, and don't slam on the brakes. Oh and use a clear visor, it makes it easier to see Mr. Green

Just take it easy. Don't try to get low in the corners and stay back a little. Turning ones head at higher speed means the rain will be blown from the visor some times. Get some good waterproof gear or oil skins etc as a damn crotch can be a distraction Laughing

Blimey! You're lucky... I've been riding seriously since May, and have been caught in several torrential storms, 2 of which were as I was riding back from the test centre on a GS500 on the A1 at approx 80mph.

Try riding in the pouring rain at night in the deepest darkest corners of Lincolnshire on unlit roads... now that's fun.... not!!

Advice? well, Just get on with it, remember that stopping distances are doubled in the wet, and keep at least 4 or 5 seconds away from the vehicle in front.

Don't brake sharply and you'll be fine... wet perhaps, but fine.

Yeah i know about cornering im quite steady into the corners in the dry, im very cautious in the wet in my car so double on the bike then.

TBH i would take it easy in the dry cause i dont know the bike!.

Yeah more than lucky ha.

You got the obvious and cornering and braking.

Keep your cell phone in a sealed plastic bag. Be careful when overtakibg a lorry. It can feel like hitting a wave and visibility is nill

Ask what tyres it has. Very sporty tyres are shit n the wet. Oh and warm it up, make sure you have a visor with anti mist spray.

I rode from Leicester to Colwyn Bay in the pouring rain, swapped my bike for a newer one, then rode back, still pissing it down with rain. Laughing

You've rode a 600 before so the power shouldn't really catch you out. Just take it steady and you'll be alright. Consider it a baptist. Laughing

Also, some sporty tyres are shit in the wet, not all Exclamation

If it's got pilot road 2 or 3's on, I'd probably push it as hard as I would in the dry without worrying, anything else just ease off a bit.

Watch out on corners/roundabouts for diesel patches & metal road covers (lethal in the wet)

I had a novice friend who round 100 miles home in the rain one evening and came a cropper about 2 miles from home throu diesel!

Cover my costs and I'll pick it up for you. Problem = solved. Very Happy

Seriously though, all motorway... you'll be fine.

Riding through puddles 1ft deep and 20ft long at the start of a 160 mile ride I was fine. Just make sure you've got waterproofs that work and take it easy.

I've never used anti-mist stuff before. If you get your head in the right place the wind hits your visor and keeps it perfectly clear.

We have a number of significant enemies in the rain. Things like manhole covers, diesel spills (grrr), road markings, even cats eyes.

Ride slower than than normal and be very watchful. Leave loads of braking distance. Stop for rests as soon as you feel fatigued. You will get tired from all the extra concentration if nothing else.

You say it is mostly motorway. Watch out for trucks & spray. Maybe decide you're going to sit behind a truck doing 56 mph and just burble along. It would also be a good idea to wear some hi viz to stand out a bit in the poor visibility.

You could also take some spare clothing in case you get wet & then cold. Think how nice it would feel to change into dry gloves half way through the journey.

Can of WD40 just in case the electrics get damp. Motorway spray can really penetrate. Maybe spray all over the coils, plugs & leads before you start.

Finally, man up.
