Hi all,

I have recently bought the above bike and it has a crack in the Thermostat cover.

I rung up lings honda parts and they have one for the RK for £13, but when I gave my chassis number he said it was an RH model and the thermostat cover for the RH was different and they had none available. I have checked the log book, and the chassis and engine numbers match up, but it says its an RK.

Are these parts/bikes actually different? and if anyone can help me find one i would be most appreciative!

Thanks in advance for your help

There's no difference, the R-K, F etc were just fairing type changes, mechanically they all seem to be the same.

I have a very poorly one tucked away in shed; you mean you need the bit at the top of the cylinder head for the rad hose, or the little nipple bit that the temp gauge wire clips onto?

Hi Steve,

Sorry to hear yours is not well!

I'm pretty sure its the bit at the top of the cylinder head for the radiator hose. This is what it looks like - https://www.cmsnl.com/products/cover-thermostat_12304kr1760/

If you could help me out I would be MOST appreciative!

I'll be down where mine is Saturday, I know the engine is working and intact so if that bit comes off you can have it for a fiver, which covers postage and packaging it. Thumbs Up

There are a fair few odd differences. Fuel gauge on the F (and tank to suit). Different water header tank.

However suspect the cylinder head and water pipes are the same.

All the best

Yeah my bad, I meant no actual running differences, hence the mechanical note at the end. Smile

If you have 'NSR' bits, the likelyhood is that anything you can supply won't fit.

Heh heh cheers for the pic steve!

Mr Jermy - Norwich! Was up in Norfolk not too long ago actually for a hog roast, what a shame i didnt have the bike then!
As for the thermostat cover, It's only that piece I need I think! If i need more I will enquire at a later date. Steve was going to send me the thermo cover for a fiver to cover costs, would you accept the same? I'm hoping to get working on it this weekend!

Thanks again chaps

I'll get the wreckage of a cover off tomorrow and have a look, if it's in one piece I don't mind sending it incase it can be used, but I don't want to be held responsible for it not reading temp right and overheating/killing an NS. Sad
