Which is what gives you the quantum computer.

It does also rather bring science and religion into close proximity.

electrons can be anywhere at 1 moment in time, by observing it you locate them, so in theory you, yourself can be anywhere and everywhere at the same moment in time, but the second you are observed, for instance by light rays, then you can not be, you are locked into that 1 place.

I love how you explain that as if it makes total sense... it's spooky as hell, how can it act one way when it's not being observed but act totally the other way when it is. It's bonkers!

It is very weird. I would love to study quantum mechanics but it gets so complex so quickly.

its not really an accurate description of whats happening. Basically you can be absolutely everywhere, you are in every single possibility at anyone time. by being observed by a light ray bouncing off you, a water molecule hitting you, your are not.
dark matter is way more of a fucked concept. That and the fact the universe is expanding and what the consequence of that is, is more of a mind fuck

We can only see 5% of the universe though. The other 95% is made up of particles/energy that neither emits or appears to interact with electromagnetic forces. Since a photon is an Em wave and an electron is a moving electric charge we are not seeing the whole picture

I think that the real issue is that with the very big and the very small, our theories and models of the world are flawed and start to break down.

So a photon does not flip from being a particle to a wave and back again. It's true nature neither fits our wave model or our particle model completely we we have to flip between those models to try to understand it.

A bit like car insurance policy online form that asks if you have another vehicle, but doesnt give an option for that other vehicle to be a motorbike. The only options available are company car or another privately owned car. The website otions just acknowledge the existence of motorbikes as vehicles.

We think the photon can only be a particle or a wave and we try to explain its behaviour by either thinking of it as a wave or a particle but it is clearly something else that we haven't got our head around yet.

I do rather enjoy quantum mechanics. It is a very different area of science, hard to understand and a lot of it isn't logical.

I'd really recommend anyone who has even half an interest to read "How To Teach Quantum Physics To Your Dog" by Chad Orzel. It makes an incredibly complex topic relatively easy to understand, by using really clever "relatable" examples.

You could use Planck lengths to measure it but you'd need a lot of them. I'm packing over an inch down there which my mummy assures me is bigger than average no matter what anyone says Mad
