I need to replace the front brake pads on my bandit 650. Is it worth going for Sintered Brake pads or just stick with the standard? If it makes any difference to the decision, I use the bike everyday on all types of road.

Also, what brands should I look for?

I've used Goldfren on a few of my bikes, there cheap and IMO are more than good enough for what can be thrown at them on the road.

Which ever pads I use, I always use sintered. My wifes ER6 has Goldfren. The Fazer has EBC, the CBR400 Armstrong (I think) and my Triumph has whatever Triumph have fitted as standard.

The only bike I was very very fussy about was my Busa with the Tocico six pots and I always fitted Bendix pads to them.

Thanks, I'll take a look, sintered aren't that much more expensive. Not sure on brand though.

Sintered improved my bike's braking dramatically. The only thing to bear in mind though is I've heard they wear out the disc faster.

I would recommend you against EBC organic pads, due to them being woeful when i last fitted them, and wearing out very quickly. Aside from that, for commuting use it's largely a case of rating (GG vs HH), and type (e.g. sintered or not).
