Alright I passed, everything went great etc... But I've got one question I've been pondering ever since.

The examiner and me got split up about 5 minutes in, and it took him about 5 minutes to get back behind me due to very heavy traffic and the route he was sending me down (radio still worked) being full of lights.

About 5 minutes after that, we got split again, and he sent me down the dual carriageway, caught up with me on that, but he didnt see me merge, accelerate, even turn onto it really as he was at the set of lights behind me there even.

We proceeded to lose each other for a third time, through the trickiest section of the test, big roundabout under a dual carriageway with about 7 turn ons and offs, so he didn't see me navigate this either.

No complaints as I passed! But he did miss out on seeing me do a lot of stuff, is that something they just accept and assume you did fine on? I'm sure I made no major mistakes on those sections as I was still riding as perfectly as I could, but it does make me think what people could get away with, especially compared to a car where you can never escape the examiners gaze.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

You're expected to ride to a standard deemed safe to yourself and others. If you managed to do that and didn't cause an accident, then you're fine. If you did do somethings wrong and he didn't see you, count yourself lucky!

That's the dream test. You can't be failed on what they don't see.

It's their job to keep up, not yours to wait for them.

Haha....he had to pass you cos he didnt see you for half the test, love it.

On my Mod2 he followed in a car ( ie wussed out due to rain)...we did hit a little bit of traffic so technically i could have filtered and hed have been long gone.

Although saying that...i was told that if you lose your examiner for a large section of the test then it can be cancelled and have to be retaken, so the op is lucky really in some respects.
