I've bought a renntec rack (2nd hand) and it won't fit right.
When I place it in the right position with the two holes lining up to where they should be bolted down, there is 2-3mm difference. I can put one bolt in but the other wont grab the thread at all.

It seems as though the rack is slightly too wide as if it has been bent. But it is very sturdy so can't see how it can be (I can't bend it back by hand).

Anyone else had a similar problem? Solutions?

Not with renntec. All the stuff I have had off them usually fits OK. The obvious solution is to fit spacers (washers) either side and longer bolts.

I suspect if it is the correct rack for your bike, the rack came with these originally.

When I fitted my rack and pannier frames it seemed like it wouldn't all fit. Fit it loosely at first if possible, try forcing it firmly but gently if you see what I mean, then tighten it all down.

Like Polarbear says, mine came with aluminium spacers.

I have tried forcing it gently, don't want to break anything. The holes don't even line up, spacers will only lift the rack and not help at all surely.

If all fails ill try a bit more force. I was close to pulling the bike off the paddock stand last time Laughing

Nope. Got nothing but the rack. Two holes, (almost) line up with the holes for the grab rail, seems simple but it won't bloody fit.

The Renntek I got with my Bandit was fitted with metal bungs/spacers, so at a guess it's likely to be the correct rack for the bike, but you're lacking the correct spacers

I had to get 2 longer bolts for the sides and gently reshape the rear mount slightly with a hammer.

Email them for instructions, at least then you'll know if you've got everything you need to fit it.
