I find this worse way to learn than some geared small bike. At least I feel much safer on proper motorcycle, because these scooters have small wheels too close to each other, which make it quite unstable.
It's just my personal experience with a 50cc scooter, also the lean angles are restricted, a lot, I scraped the center stand on it. This and those small wheels are quite dangerous thing about the scooters + it's got no clutch obviously, so it's no secret that many people were dragged around the parking lot by that small thing, which is quite fun to watch ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Those tiny wheels will not give you confidence, and for good reason. The tiny wheels on mopeds are properly unstable, and will scare the crap out of you if you hit a pothole. And almost all mopeds are a bit of a disaster in terms of riding dynamics. The only advantage of a moped like this in terms of making things easier is the lack of gears. In every other way, something like a YBR or similar will give you both more confidence, and more relevant experience.
I was joking before, but I was serious as well. Riding mopeds like this is a pretty unpleasant experience. I hope you dont think riding this is what riding other bikes will be like. And I hope you feel ready to move up to a motorcycle soon. Genuinely. It will make the whole thing much more enjoyable!

it might give you confidence on 2 wheels, but this is time you could be spending learning how to brake and use your gears properly on a small geared bike.
the fuel economy is still there with a geared bike, so if it is at all possible, try to step up as soon as you can.
crack on fella, you'll get there ____________________ CBT - 17/09/12 * Theory - 23/10/12 * Mod1 - 05/03/13 * Mod2 - 25/03/13 * BOSH!
