 |
|
Hi,
As the tag line, I am new here and very very new to biking in general.
Did my CBT last week and am picking up a YBR 125 2007 model on Thursday
As I have limited experience I got my friend to look at and test ride the bike with me. He seemed happy with it all, only comment was slight rasping at 6000rpm and needs new front break, which the owner had told me about.
Going to do HPI check this avo but vin no matches docs etc so positive so far.
I guess, 1) i wanted to say hi 2) thanks, i have looked at this forum a lot and found it very helpful and 3) any extra advice, tips, things to look at with the bike etc?
Feel like a kid at Christmas at the moment!!
Cheers

Well an update - as the bike was registered at his old address I have asked him to send off the V5 to get an updated address. Once this is back i'll then buy it and he'll have to send off the V5 again to transfer ownership. It's a ballache to be honest, but I wouldn't be covered by the HPI if I didn't buy it from the address where it's registered.
Fair play to him, I explained why and told him I'd understand if he wanted to sell to someone else, but he agreed to do it. I'm probably being a bit paranoid, but my old man ended up accidently buying a ringer years back and nearly ended up with it stuck on his drive, unable to sell it, scrap it or drive it!
Anyways, I won't officially be a biker for another few weeks now but at least when I am I'll feel happier. I'm very glad he's still going to sell it me as well as think I already love it! |

Check tyres, if stock change them
Check chain and sprockets for wear
Standard, enjoy
And yeah pretty paranoid of you, I just paid for a V62 for mine so I didn't have to wait as long, he took the money off the cost of the bike ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |
