There's a yank vlogger who has a few popular videos of him doing 150+ on his R6 but they seem to get away with it over there. Think his name is chaseontwowheels or something.

makes absolutely no odds. They just measure how quickly you pass between bridges or measure how many white lines you pass in a certain time.

I don't know how that can stand up, I know my video camera isn't calibrated, so I would argue that the product you end up with on film, should not be expected to be accurate to real time. I'm sure most people have had videos where the sound and picture are out of sync by the end of the clip, because they are playing at slightly different speeds, and thus at least one is not at the same speed as real life, when the vid was taken.

It's weird how he was done for dangerous driving when he actually appeared to be riding with a lot more care, attention and consideration for other road users than all of us doubtless see every day. Thinking

If you are going to incriminate yourself, may I suggest following this chap's example?

Fair enough, but I should have of probably explained my view on it a little better.

Irregarding the debate on speeding, if you willing upload videos (I'm looking at you N30 Laughing ) of yourself breaking the law (regardless if the law is 'just' ) then you cannot be surprised when some authorities hold you accountable for those actions despite not being caught/stopped at the time.

Sh!t I know, but in todays society this is happening more and more often.

To the point people should be watching what they say or do on social networking or any other media.

And especially if it's about your job.

There are plenty of cases of this happening, people should take notice.

Just an FYI for anyone wanting to jump on this, I do not support it, but it is the reality we live in.

I have to agree - essentially what you're doing is posting evidence of a crime on the internet for potentially anyone to see. Although it'd be nice if they [the police] took no notice, sadly they do and so it's therefore probably best not to do it.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if ze authorities are monitoring sites like this either. Therefore probably not unwise to do a bit of East German-style self-censorship on occasion.

They do, they read exactly what I was saying on other forums when I was nicked when I was saying how depressed I was and what a stupid mistake i'd made. They took it into account when they sent the evidence to CPS.

Police ask Youtube for IP, then ask ISP for address from IP.

Police raid house and take EVERYTHING as evidence. Including leathers, gloves, helmets, bike, hard drives, memory cards, USB sticks, anything that's motorcycle related or seen in the video. PC will be taken and also checked for evidence. If you say it was a mate of yours then you'll have to explain who it was.

With the evidence I was shown they had against me my solicitor told me it was best to accept it was me in the video, and I was also told by her that during the interview the only question I should answer is my name, She then read out a pre interview statement I'd made with her admitting it was me in the video, the rest of the interview I was told not to answer a single thing, don't even say no comment, don't nod, don't shake my head, don't even look at them.

They asked questions like "Did you think your riding in the video was dangerous" "Do you think you were riding in a safe manner" "were you exceeding the speed limit" "Do you think you were endangering other road users" Basically trying to get you to admit you'd ridden dangerously etc.

All that investigative work, then when they figure it is you speeding, all that extra investigation to read your posts? Dont thyey have any crime to follow up on?

I shudder at the police man hours to trace, investigate, incriminate and prosecute a speeder. Like you are a serial killer or something.

If they have a whole series of speeding and dangerous driving, and complaints, OK, but 1 vid??

So he posted a vid on the net. Thats an action of someone who is proud of what they did, hence the reason they want to show off what they did to the world. Based on this fact, what generated this part:

"The 25-year-old factory worker, of Irby, Wirral, was ashamed of his behaviour, Prestatyn magistrates heard."

Anyway there plenty of people on this forum who have gone much faster, myself included. (my name is santa clause and because climate change has made the north pole disappear I now live in the bermuda triangle).

I thought his riding was pretty much spot on
ok slight exaggeration, don't think it warranted a 12 month ban though.

Big bikes nowadays, what like 100 mph plus easy in 2 /3 gear, and these sort of bans for riding as such in a safe manner on a A road, then being forced to say sorry when your not.

Fucking nazis.

Not always very accurate. You can just claim you speeded up the video a little bit to show off to your friends etc. A bit difficult to do when theres a speedo showing though.

If people would stop with the criminal activity then the "waste of money and resources" involved in prosecuting them wouldn't be necessary. It'd not matter so much if convictions included "paying for all of the resources used in a successful prosecution" but it doesn't - we all chip in for that.

People would think twice if their "3-points + £60" fine was topped up with "+ £15,000 for what it cost in emergency services and lawyers etc. to prosecute you...".

...oh, and the £10,000,000 in 3rd-party damages and compensation when you get unlucky and mow-down a bus-queue...
