I've just found this link from another site and I thought I'd post it here to see what you guys + gals think, there seems to be 2 new versions of the Hyosung Comet 650 1 fully faired and the other is half faired, unfortunately the site is in Italian and I can't understand a bloody word but there are a few pics.I'm not sure if either of these bikes will be in production but the fully faired one sure looks cool Thumbs Up

https://www.motorbox.com/Moto/Magazine/HyosungGT650R-S.html?mmc=49&mm=44868

If you click avanti in the bottom right corner of the pic it clicks on to the next one...I did at least work that out for meself Mr. Green

Very nice looking bike.

Having ridden the unfaired version, the faired ones should be even better.

I want one!

GSXR 600 anyone? Even the R on the side panels matches. Thinking

Or maybe it's just the conspiracy theorist in me speaking. A few too many similarities, though I'll admit it is a very nice looking bike.

Poor attempt at a copy if thats what they were trying, it's nothing compared to the GSXR!

How can it be a copy of a GSXR, when its a V-Twin 650cc?

I think there more a hint of MV Augusta in the front headlight.

Also if you didn't know Hyosung are partners with Suzuki hence why it may share some parts with their bikes. Wink

well, suzuki do own hyosung(or something like that, theres a strong link between the two)...

Anyway, its kinda hard to have a sportsbike these days that doesnt look like the other ones. Hyosung have put quite a bit into R&D for the bike, don't knock it. At least its good to seee a smaller company trying Very Happy

Lets be honest with ourselves here how many manufacturers have decided to shove an exhaust under the seat? All bikes are starting to look scarily the same. Confused

Plastic fantastic. Don't get me wrong, they look nice and I like them, but they are all a bit similar. Not as bad as a car is a car is a car, but I just think unfaired bikes have more character. Having said that, I'd imagine a well faired sports tourer is going to be much better to ride than an unfaired monster, so I'll keep my reservations out of it.

The fully faired version looks really nice Very Happy not too keen on the half faired version.

One thing I have to complain about with the comet (including the 125cc and 250cc versions) is the terribly cheap looking rear fairing. Having it split down the middle with the 2 screws going throung it just looks cheap to me and not well thought out. Would be nice to see belly pans avalible for the half faired and unfaired comets.

For me though I'd go for a Suzuki SV650 because of the extras avalible for it.

I think Hyosung are basically copying other manufacturers bikes and making them cheaper.

I find something about them a bit too suspicious. Id like to see if Hyosung bikes still run after 10,000 or so miles.

Well considering Hyosung engines are based on Suzuki ones I should imagine in 10,000 miles they'll be like any Suzuki.

Hyosung are partners with Suzuki hence the likenesses with the bikes, they even make some of Suzuki's smaller bikes like the GS125 etc.

Well there's a fair few Hyosung 125 trailbikes showing over 10'000miles, and still running fine. Most are either ridden by learners over here, or in Europe theres alot of them around as holiday rental bikes. The 125 trail model has a reputation for being very tough, and apart from minor details and the slightly poorer finish, they seem just as tough as a Honda!

Hi

Cannot say I am keen on it. The unfaired one looks quite good, but the fairing looks cheap and nasty, like it was nicked from a new shape GS500.

All the best

Keith

Looks allright appart from the headlights :S
I suspect that its a fair whack cheaper than a gixxer, but i bet the build quality and resale value are laughable :<

600 V-twin. According to https://www.bikez.com/bike/index.php?bike=20878 it makes 79 horsepower. That should do 100mph easily. 130mph apparently.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, the poster above myself said that his mates Comet 125 made 100 MPH. Smile

100 mph from a 125 4t? Laughing That one's a good old chestnut usually roasted by the two smoke people.
