When I was out for a lovely long run today (90 miles) I was full throttling it at about 75mph on a straight open road and the bike felt like it was losing power and just dropped to 60mph!
Can anyone explain why this would have happened?
I even tried to drop a gear but nothing! Then abotu 5 minutes later it was fine!
It is due it's 5,000 mile service mind you, could this be the cause? ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10

Overheating and providing the first warnings of a seizure? I dunno as I've never had a 2t, but it's the first thing that occurs to me. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Nah, there was no head wind, it was really calm today - not a breeze at all!
I was thinking about the overheating thing, but the temperature gauge was fine.
It just cleared suddenly after about 5 minutes and picked up speed quite the thing! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10

Cheers Nick - not really worrying about it 'cause it seemed fine after it and sounds fine, etc. I was just curious!
Like I said though, it is due a service, so I suppose that could be to do with it also! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10

I'd say its probably a fueling thing too, to be suddenly on and off like that... obviously keep and eye on it tho!
You can get £10 inline fuel filters which go between your tank and tap, these "should" stop any loose debris ending up in your carbs, for 5 minutes of fitting and a tenner its worth thinking about ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Cheers Zero, we've got a couple of wee things to do to the bike liek changing the fork seals and doing the service, so will probably do this as a precaution at the same time!! ____________________ I have an asshole tolerance level of -10

Another tip, carry a spare spark plug (and the tool). You only have one on that bike and if it goes, well, you know what will happen. I had a plug go on me a few months ago, I didnt have my tools with me and I had to push the damn bike for 3 miles. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. I had this problem on my NSR, thinking about. Red ex sorted it out. It cleans the jets and also makes bikes start easy in the cold mornings. The bike ran so much smoother with rex ex.
Prob just sh1t in the tank / jets. |
