I just use Google Popup Blocker.
Can't even remember the last time I had an unsolicited popup window

My PC is kept quite clean, never have a problem with spyware (no porn, warez, free games etc) but I'll run a scan anyway. If I was sufferning spyware I expect I would get popups all over the place not just from one page on one site.

BCF does not run any popups, redirects or "between page" ads and never will.

Most likely scenario is you've got some malware installed that is creating these. Other option would be a Google Ad that is misconfigured, but then I'd expect other people to also see them and for the broken ad to be promptly nuked by Google.

Cheers Korn, I ran malwarebytes and got only a few results, one being a reg entry for xbn.exe. I guess it might have been that. I think you're right it must have been triggered by a google ad, because it's never appeared at any other time.

Not as clean as you thought then Laughing

I take it yours Malwarebytes isn't the full version? if so you should enable Live Protection.

What antivirus are you using? (please don't say AVG)

'Quite clean'.
I think 6 items counts as pretty clean, especially when 3 of them are just where I turned off notifications, so 3 reg entries is fair play since this is the first scan I've done this year. With this result I'll do without the overhead of live protection.

Next time it might not be malware, it could be a keylogger. Thus taking any passwords/credit card info you type in.

True enough, but the same is true for everyone and I am willing to bet my PC is far far 'cleaner' than most.

I think it's from one of the adverts, a couple of other forums I visit have had people having the same thing going on.

The hyperlinking on random words that turn into an advert.
Must be a new thing being rolled out because I've started noticing them on a few forums ...

Then I realised my ad block plugin was switched off

It doesn't matter how many "bad" things are on your computer, it is what they do that counts.

I'm getting redirects from this site too and I have to use Task Manager to get shot of them. It's happening on no other sites and my PC is clean.

In my case, it happens in a blink, so I couldn't say.

The same thing is happening to me also. I'm getting it at work and I'm getting it at home too. It isn't happening on any other sites that I visit.

As suspected this seems to be a rogue Google AdSense advert. Some more info here:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/adsense/x_g9lDeF9tw/WXPMkF8lJfQJ

... but no solution as yet from Google. Incidentally, has anybody had it happen on any browser other than Internet Explorer?
