Well today was lovely and dry so I decided to take my wee bike out for a run and ended up doing over 90 miles! Laughing Laughing

I had a great time, even though I got lost and ended up in Irvine instead of Ayr!!! Rolling Eyes

I felt so much more confident on my bike, I was even shifting the weight onto my feet and lifting my butt to the side a bit when going round corners - not on purpose either, it just kind of happened naturally! I felt really, really comfortable too and felt that because I was more confident on the bike that I was paying much more attention to the road ahead.

Being on a few rideouts lately has obviously helped me too, 'cause I felt like my positioning on the road was really good too! I didn't feel like I was over-shooting on corners at all - and I was taking some pretty fast, about 50mph.

I also managed to get correct an error twice - the same error on two different roundabouts!!! As I was taking my exit, just after indicating and then doing my lifesaver over my left shoulder I found myself pulling my steering the way I was looking - RIGHT INTO THE KERB, but thankfully - on both occassions, I managed to keep calm and lean away from it and carry on safely - phew!!!

Anyway, wake up now - I didn't mean for this post to be so long!!! Embarassed

Cheers
Fran Thumbs Up Karma Thumbs Up

Completely Nick! It felt really, really good today, I was out for hours too!

I was even a naughty girl and ended up on the motorway for about 5 miles 'cause the A77 turns into the M77, but there's no signs telling you this and the first you know is when you're there!!! I could have come off about 3 exits before I did, but I decided to just be a rebel instead!!! Laughing Wink

LOL, the lottery...........that'd be nice..... Rolling Eyes I've spent all this money getting my bike, insurance and training, now I'm beginning to think whether I can afford petrol or not !!!

I fully recommend ride on for the training, I think its £30 for two hours tuition on your bike. That being the 125 course.......of course.

Glad you're back on the bike FA, and you had a good day.

I did a similar thing myself today, helped the other half change the oil in my bike & do some other bits & pieces, then decided to nip over to my mum's for half an hour, which is about 8 miles away.

When I got home (some time later Laughing ) I'd done 72 miles!

Still, it might be my last chance for a while if the weather is crap this winter and at least I know my anti-freeze will have worked its way all the way around by now! Very Happy

I wouldn't want to be training on a 125cc though?? Confused I'm on a 125 at the moment, I would expect to be training on a 500cc and since I don't have a big bike at the moment, it would have to be theirs.

I've hear Bike It in Paisly are good!

The more I ride the more confident I become especially on dry days' I'm sure this the be the same for everybody. The only thing I worry about is when this may turn into overconfidence or am I just going to have some moments when I think that I won't push it as hard again Praying

Glad to hear that you are getting your enthusiasm back all you have to work now is your sense of direction Thumbs Up

Cheers

I'm sure you won't become over-confident - how long have you been riding for Ian?

And my sense of direction is pretty darn good, it's just using the 'A' & 'B' roads that throw me a bit instead of motorways!!! Razz

Just over a year now, 6 months on a CG125 and the rest on a GS500. I think I'm just getting to the stage where I'm becoming familiar with the bike but am still learning how to ride it on the road.

cheers
