Because if you do, Bonhams auctioneers are set to auction the only Ferrari bike ever commissioned.

I quite like the styling of it, according to David Kay,who built the bike, the engine sounds like "a Messerschmitt chasing a Spitfire"

More here: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/CARS/news/FERRARI/the_worlds_only_ferrari_motorbike_up_for_auction.html

Now where did I leave my wallet..?

Even if you have a spare £200,000 kicking about you would also need a time machine. Look at the date of the article.

I was just thinking, imagine if you overcooked it on a corner. How could you possibly afford to repair it. Having said that, if you've got £100/200,000 to throw down on a bike, I imagine thats not an issue.

£100,000 in my case would buy me: about 3 bikes, one for whatever mood i'm in. The rest would go on a heated garage, with a proper bike lift and full snap-on tool cabinet. Mmmm, Snap-on.

Yes it's unique, but I'm still undecided about the retro styling...
and obviously would be attractive to some bike, and most Ferrari fans

However I don't think I would, even if I could

The type of person that would be interested in that sort of bike wouldn't likely ever ride it.

Which nicely sums up a huge part of what's wrong with the world; those who can afford to buy these things, buy them to prove that they can afford to, not for the reason it was made.

It's nice to look at, but how can they possibly justify the price?

Chris Evans will probably have it, paint it white, and put it in his collection with all the other motors that he never uses.

Also, I bet he slammed that Billie Piper right up the gary on a nightly basis. And we're deporting lightweights like Abu Hamza. Brick Wall

If I had £100K, I think I'd buy a MulitStrada 1200, Speed Triple (not the R, but I would retro fit 'proper' Ohlins)

Then a KTM 690SM and maybe a 60's Bonnie, I'd use the changes for Petrol insurance and track days etc.

If I did, I wouldn't waste it on that pile o' wank.
The same bike's been bounced around auction sites for the past few years, always demanding a stupid price, then getting dropped to approximately half of the previous stupid price, and still going for stupid money regardless.

If I remember correctly, it's not actively endorsed by Ferrari so much as the guy that built it said "I'd like to use the Ferrari badge" and Ferrari replied with "Meh; whatever".

Might I also point out that the original article is from 2008.

It's a crime against nature and basic justice. Gingers don't deserve those sort of perks.

TBH if someone has the cash to buy it, they can buy it, and do what they want with it. Just because I enjoy riding bikes and not looking at them doesn't make someone that just wants to have it to look at wrong.

That'd be a nice bike to use for a DAS mod2 test. Hope the examiner takes you to an NSL dual carriageway and laugh at him trying to keep up Laughing

Not much good for commuting, you'd need to tow a fuel bowser behind you to get any decent mileage out of it!!!
