Anyone use them?

Is this a troll? I'm getting weary of trying to work it out or just stupid/lazy people genuinely asking for help.

Not being funny but discussed a number of times.
Please use the search facility.
There is even links to YouTube videos of Almax and other chains being cropped (or attempted to).

tl;dr Yes they are good but you need to get a decent size chain link. The same can be said for other chain makes. Do not get Oxford chains. A chain is also only as good as the lock and immovable object it's attached with/to.

Nah not a troll and due to being offshore on a rubbish server I cant get on youtube etc, I wanted to be doubly sure about them before I purchase on online prior to my return home.

Maybe I should have posted this in the New Bikers section so not to offend your intelligence with me being very new to biking and all that!

Cheers Paddy,

What length would you recommend seeing as I will be purchasing a bike very similar to yourself. I reckon I will be chaining the front wheel up over the tank/seat as I have an underground carpark at my pad but no real fixtures to attach the bike to.

Don't skimp on the padlock though... if a theif sees a beasty uncroppable chain with a weedy little padlock... well.. which one is he going to attack?

Personally I use a 1.6m chain on my GS500. Allows me to chain the rear wheel and the frame in 2 places to some street furniture. Also because of the length makes carrying very easy.

I noticed that Almax can provide a Squire padlock with the chain, I was going to go for that.

I wouldn't suggest wrapping your bike up...

Perhaps through front wheel to a solid object...big plant pot with ground anchor cemented in. Either way.. You'll want 1.5m+ really.

If your allowed to, you should fit a ground anchor and chain it to that, you could have got one with a discount if ordering chain/padlock/anchor all at once. I'm not sure why illuminate rushed you in to a purchase without checking this..

Because he is a faggot.

But either way... I'd probably look at putting a big plant pot where you park, fill with cement and put a big U shaped thing in there, what I plan to do is get 2 or 3 bicycle D locks and sinking the U shaped parts into the concrete leaving enough room for the chain to pass through Thumbs Up

Reason I say 2... it will take then a while to get through 1... give them a proper challenge.

Evil or Very Mad warning don't buy D-locks with circle shaped key they are easy to open with other devices such as casing of pens, you basically just jam it inside and twist.

Might be worth asking if they can supply another short length?
