jpeg has decent compression or good image quality. Pick one. jpeg 2000 is significantly better. If you want "best" image quality, use a lossless format like png.

I submitted work of a much higher standard when i did my GCSE coursework! I think my 2yr old son could have written better and he can't even write yet.

Top tip, if you really want to impress people when talking about image format selection, learn a tad about the formats.

JPEG is good, but as Mr Borg pointed out, it is a lossy format, so if you need to make a compromise between image quality and file size.

Gif is a good small format within its colour table limitations, although it is much better for images which have large swathes of a solid colour. Busy images mean file sizes get bigger. This has to do with the direction (left to right) in which the format is encoded. PNG-8 is similar, but has a slightly different algorithm.

I tend to use PNG-24 for images which involve transparency or images which will be part of a web page interface and use jpeg for photographs.

This kind of thing takes seconds to find out and looks as impressive as hell to assessors.

Also, that green line in MS Word means even Clippit thinks your grammar is shit.
