Where to insure?

Hello nice people!

As i've got my baby need to insure. And when i apply for quotes i get crazy ammonts like from 1000 pounds to 2000 pounds!!!

I am 20, no riding experience, provisional licence, gonna use bike for any possible purpose, TPF&T, its my first bike 125cc NSR Honda and the value of it is around 2000 pounds.

Could you just tell me whom you are insured with and how to get lower quotes cause i'm not that mad to pay 2 grand just like that!!!!!!!!!

Another way is to get a copy of MCN and ring every single insurance company in there, then play the cheapest ones off against each other. Failing that give Danny a go.

There is no single cheapest insurance company. CIA Insurance are normally quite cheap for young people.

The easiest way to get cheap insurance is to get a copy of Bike Trader , and then call all the insurance companies in the back. Once you've called them all, call back around the cheapest few and play them off against each other until none will go any lower.

Or you can get Danny to do your insurance for you.

Now this is true. Although, for a 20 year old, no NCB on an nsr125, group 7 bike, you'll be pushed to get under 600 TPO. So knocking £75 off that should be alright.

However, if it were something like £125 for a 50 year old on a c90 with 20 years NCB, then I'd say, no, dont bother with the £75 off LOL! Very Happy

Fully comprehensive will be really really expensive, get TPFT.

Doesn't really matter what order you call the companies in, you want to call them all and then start ringing back around the cheapest few playing them off against eash other until you have the lowest any of them will go. Just haggle with them, "can you beat my quote of £xxx", repeat until they tell you that they can't and that you should get that policy for that price as they can't beat it.

Cheapest quotes I had this year were from Roadsure, Torview and Bike Team Ltd. Bike team offered me £370 comp (or £170 TPF&T) with protected ncb, a £250 excess and breakdown cover.

Theres no one good for all company out there. Try them all (yes its a pain in the backside but its the only way to save money).

Just thought I'd mention clickquote as a possibility since few people seem to have heard of them. I've always found that they offered me the best price, and I've no complaints about their customer service.

I've used Choicequote (also known as clickquote) and IME they couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. Abrasive on the phone, and so (un)organised that through an administrative error I was given 16 months cover instead of 12. Was cheap though.

Im 20, no riding experience, just passed.

I was getting rejected (not even a quote) by dozens of companies, and what quotes I could get where £1600, £1400, etc.

Then I phoned virgin and somehow got £570. Then I phoned around and eventually got £540 w/ TPO on other bikes, pillion and unlimited miles! And that is on an SZR660.

I am 23 have a NSR125RR and one years ncb. £213 TPFT
Last year it was about £350 with the same company.
