I used to hang out there in my 2-stroke days (about 10 years ago), when it used to be further down the road from where it is now. Good to hear it's still going strong. Very Happy

Yeah, Squires milk bar, as it was known (maybe it still is) was one of the original 'rocker' cafes in the late 50's I believe. Kinda like the ace cafe, only more northern, so obviously cooler. Wink

What's the flash you've got on that camera?! Shocked Appears to be a floodlight or something, sheesh. Looks like an interesting meet though. Whereabouts (in general terms) is Sherburn and Elmut? North, South, West Yorkshire?

Edit: found it.

It's Sherburn IN Elmet, and it's just off the A1 near Leeds/ Pontefract.

I rammed the images through photoshop becuase the night I got there it was already dusk so there wasn't really enough light to take pictures. I used phoitoshop to increase the level of white to bring out the detail but the side effect is terrible image quality but at least you can make everything out!

Sherburn is about 16 mile outside York (inext to tadcaster and th famous John Smith Brewers).

Phwoaaar, nice bit of straight road next to it in the 2nd picture...

Bet that sees a fair few wheelies!

Its like rolling thunder, being next to that road! ANd it does get some serious wheelie and general speeding abuse!

Sound's really good fun, pity it's in Yorkshire which is miles away from me.

It's a good pub, but it's losing it's appeal as the prices are going up and the quality of the food and drink is going down. If I had my carpark done I was gonna steal all his bike trade. Mine's bigger Wink

Looks like you went on a Wednesday night!
That's the traditional general meet night, together with Sundays.

Moved out of Sherburn-in-Elmet, someone says because the locals got fed up of all the bikes charging through the place and just parking anyhere. There was also a rumour it would move onto an industrial estate. Don't know how true these stories are but IMHO the old pub where it is now is a good venue.

Other groups just arrange to meet up there on a regular basis. It makes a good start/finishing place. Oh, and if you want some bits and pieces there's a bike accessory shop there too (could be Speedsport?).

Got a multimap link here which shows where it is. It's actually at Newthorpe, the cafe/bar is on the B1222 just before the railway crosses it (see closer map link) and you can also see the turning for Demonic's place - the Boot and Shoe - although I can't remember if it's still painted pink(ish) Confused

The straight road isn't that straight either. I believe this summer one rider was seriously injured if not killed pulling a wheely into an oncoming transit.
