Well if you read the first post then forget about it! I was worried about hitting a cat but someone wasn't concerned about me getting hit. I was driving behind some moron on a four by four untill I lost patience because he was gong extremely slow. I looked at the other lane, no cars coming, perfect for over taking. Drove fast past him and went to the same lane he was on because I wanted to turn right. However, I suddenly head him pulling some high revs with his car and from the looks of it wanted to race. I didn't have time to mess with that fool, I gave an indicator that i wanted to turn right and started to slow down but as I was looking in my mirror the car behind me didn't slow down! I was already starting to get in position for the turn and I then noticed a car on the other lane of the road i want to turn to. I had only 3 options, either i slow down and try to turn normally but the car behind me would had hit me. Or I could try to take the turn at the speed that i was going which i think was around 70km/h or something like that I wasn't paying attention to the speedo, but I'm still a new rider and I know that I couldn't have made that turn specially that it was very narrow. So i turned to my last option and decided to try and go around the triangle. of course the sand next to the triangle didn't help me at all but I managed to lean to the left as best as i could. I think when I hit the curb I was going about 40km/h I'm not real sure because it happened all so fast. ironically after crashing the nice lad didn't mind stopping to make sure that I was ok, he just ran away. A lady also opened the window of her car and shouted "how could you do this to yourself" thinking that I am a biker and that makes me a suicidal machine. Anyway the purpose of this post is to share what I learned so I can try and help other riders on this forum. I'm the blue line in the picture .
1: If you buy a bike don't drive it before you buy your leathers. I wasn't wearing any leathers just a normal shirt and some jeans, I am having a very hard time walking, and I mean very. My hip got hit against the curb and it's hurting like hell and somehow my knee got a very deep cut. I can see the insdies of my body!
2: I also think that I will never over take a person if I'm not gonna stay on the same road because some people might be very bad drivers. I learned to be more patient, I mean why didnt I just wait an extra 15seconds?
3: If you are gonna crash try not to get in contact with the object with a ninety degree angle because I think that'll just make you fly higher. And yes I did fly quite a bit but at least I'm alive!
4: Don't spend a lot on your first bike! I have a 2nd hand kawasaki zzr400 and I got it for almost 800 or 900 pounds so I'm not that sad about it. God knows what I would have done if it happened to my future k5 gsxr 600 hopefully.
5: Sorry that this post is long it's just that it's my first accident
Oh and for the bike damage, as soon as I got up I noticed there was an oil leak, also after inspecting the bike I noticed that the front fairing is cracked and the right foot peg came off oh and the rear brake is also cracked. Looks like I'm gonna be spending a lot of money because there are even more problems. ____________________ Kawasaki ZZR 400 | K5 GSX-R 600 |

Unlucky to ehar about the off, hope yer on the mend sooon
Although I do have to say, overtaking anywhere near a junction is a very bad idea, a major flaw in driving/riding skills, it makes it even worse if you were using this junction. If I was the 4x4 driver, I would have been a very unhappy chappy if I was cut up like this. Of course, I would slow down though, his actions are unforgiveable if he didn't slow down and give you room.
But, I'm sure you know that already!! |

Better to experience a knock early on in riding Id say.
Brace yourself though, there’s a lot more where that came from, its usually not your fault though.
Good luck with the repairs, don’t let it put you off the riding. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Yes I really want a gixxer! But not now, in a years time hopefully. I know I shouldn't go out without a license plate it was just a cruise around the house and the bike is actually for me and my 2 cousins. They're still saving up for the fees for the license place check up test. Don't harass me I can barley move . And I do deserve one because each time I see one I start to tear and I can tell between the sound of a gixxer and any other bike . Oh and, I'm not gay . ____________________ Kawasaki ZZR 400 | K5 GSX-R 600 |

You did actually have four options... What you probably should have done is go past the turn, pull up and let the traffic past, do a U-turn (they are useful when you're lost!) and then go back and do the turn from the other direction. I wouldn't have assumed that the 4x4 was just going to run into your backside either, if you were indicating and braking coming up to the junction. ____________________ I must not be a troll...
