Velcro lost it's 'stickiness'

The velcro on my gloves are next to useless.
Never seems to stick down properly.

Are there any ways to revive the velcro, so that it actually works?

Got to supermarket, find off-brand velcro for £2 or so, buy, get your wife/girlfriend/mum/gimp to sew on top of old stuff, ride.

might also be hair/fluff/tissue/general shite clogging the hooks up, try picking that all out first.
