D:<

Got SMIDSY'd.
Bent the forks.

Guy fucking saw me, and pulled out anyway. Got a witness who saw it and said the same thing.

What a twat, in his giant lexus bullshit mobile, car was too big to swerve round and pulled out too close for me to be able to brake in time. Slammed on the brakes in a controlled way and hit him anyway, his car wasn't even dented, big ass scratch though, somehow once again the forks have taken all the flak, I think braking actually made it take more impact because it wouldnt have been transferred through it as easily like bouncing off and obviously the forks compress when you brake...

WANKER!
Fuming, seriously, I can't afford this shit right now, spoke to insurance they said it'll all come off his insurance and apparently I have legal cover so any costs will be reembursed if I have to get taxis or whatever

When it rains it pours.
That's 2 RTCs this year, i'm honestly thinking about becoming a cager and saying fuck it, I really enjoy biking as well, my commute is enjoyable, whereas in a car i'd be crawling and it'd be rage.

-_-

Fuck sake Alpha.

AWEFISRHVIDHB! Evil or Very Mad

Well i'm okay at the minute but it happened not very long ago, now I have a headache coming on and my wrist is not a happy bunny

S'alright mate. I crashed my CBR600 twice. Both idiot drivers. Funnily enough it's always when I'm being sensible.

Lesson learned: speed everywhere.

I know right?

Yet when i'm being a dick filtering wildly and speeding I have no issues, every crash has been me being reserved and restrained!
But meh, wouldnt be saying that if I did crash while being a dick, not sure how much of it is trying my luck

But yeah, I was a bit wound up hence the post style...

THis junction, using mothers crappy laptop so nicht paint could barely load street view, took ages

He was coming out the junction of the left, indicating right, saw him, he had a bit of a gap to pull out but didnt so I was like okay, i'll keep going, then he decides to pull out as i'm right near him, donut

FFFUUUUUU....

Sucks to hear that. Sorry I can't relate though, I tend to crash out of view, on my own Razz

On the flip side however... Dat moment when you realise it won't cost you anything to get money off said cunt.

Indeed, I suppose it will be okay. I feel a bit of a cunt for having another crash and adding to the bikes are dangerous motto, everyone at work will lol as they're constantly saying bikes are death traps.. Nope it's the drivers who don't give the foggiest fuck

Its a bastard i've gotta get work somehow, gonna have to crash at my parents tonight and get the bus, thankfully I crashed up the road from their house so rolled it down to theirs which is where I am now.

Got my mod 1 next week as well, fooking great innit!

Unlucky iMark, shit happens and don't I know it!

Yes i'm getting close to smilers but to give him credit his have been minor spills, this is like the third pretty bad 'accident' i've had

It's like I was saying, we ride every day just hoping people will stick to the rules and not pull out on us, then bam when you least expect it

Hoping, I expected him to pull out but he didnt, so I kept going, then he pulled out Laughing Rolling Eyes

Anyone had experience with them inspecting your bike after a crash?
What sort of things do they pick up on? As it was 100% tp's fault i'm assuming they wont be 'against me'

Someone who's knowledgable about insurance: could Alpha not hire a bike at the car driver's expense?

Alpha-9, i invite you to test mine Smile

Hard luck dude.

You should be seriously concerned. Google 'bald tyres and insurance claims' and you will find that insurance companies are denying claims if a vehicle was not roadworthy when involved in an accident.

If I were you I'd be looking for a scrubbed rear tyre and getting it on the bike sharpish, before your insurance assessor comes calling.

O rly, i'll have a look, the treads gone in the middle but the edges are okay, but the assessors will know their shit

That's the thing I would have thought they would want to go through with the claim as it's on the other party's insurance so everyone on my side is a winner, but that's wishful thinking I guess.

I will look into it, thank you Sad
I see a lot about cars but not bikes, but I guess it's the same

I'm worried...

I'm just waiting for the tyre, should be here any day now

It'll cost <£200 to fix I think if I did it, not assessed the damage properly, is dark

Regardless of my tyres, the accident wouldn't have happened if he didn't pull out in front of me

Glad you're healthy enough to be pissed off Smile

The decision to stop biking or not is up to you, but I would say you've had your share of bad luck so stick with it.

Good luck with the claim Thumbs Up

Nah it doesn't Laughing Buy a hot hatch, drive it like you stole it, win! (Lol, just found this https://www.barryboys.co.uk/ )

Alpha, good to hear you're alright. You must only be a very short way away from my grandads house!

ABS wouldn't have saved you. It'll stop you locking the front and binning the bike, but it can't stop you plowing into something. Makes it easier to just grab the lever hard and thus stop quickly I guess. Given the choice, I'd definitely have ABS.

I can't afford to not be really, and I love it, who am I kidding Razz
I'd hate to crawl in traffic every day, I'd seriously lose the plot I think!

I would just fix it myself and have done if I had the money, I can't afford not to claim D:

Heh, actually when my mate drove it was a right laugh, because you can have passengers a radio and climate control, lovely

But silly insurance, fuck that!
