this is gonna sound like a realy stupid question but ....

GSX 550 built on the late 80`s when 4* fuel was to be had in the petrol stations... now we are universaly on unleaded fuels does this mean the valves need upgrading / hardened seats like you need to do in cars ? Got it in my head that running on unleaded fuels will burn up the valve seats !
is it a case of having to put a lead additive in the fuel ?

probably a laim question but if i don`t ask I won`t know kinda thing..
