Red is hard shoulders, Green is slip roads, White between lanes and Amber is the central reservation Thumbs Up

Overall stopping distance at 30 = 23 metres / 75 feet

At 50 = 53 Metres / 175 feet

At 70 = 96 Metres / 315 feet

Thumbs Up

Toucan crossing is the one that allow bikes to cross.

Good luck, remember to click half a second after you spot the hazard aswell incase the computer hasn't registered it!

Thumbs Up

Genius! What else will be on there that isn't common sense? I'm really worried about failing as it was all last minute in attempt to get it done before the law changes.

Well, if it is 95% common sense and you only need 75% to pass you'll be fine. Very Happy

One question I had, though, left something to the interpretation. It was along the lines of turning right on to a road with a small central reservation, what to do?

Two answers could have worked:
1. Cross to the centre when clear on the first carriageway and wait
2. Wait for both carriageways were clear

The key is in the word small. It it is, clearly a relative term. I decided to go for which would be viewed as the safest so took the latter, which was correct.

Not a good place for ambiguous questions, IMHO, unless both answers were accepted as correct.

"Small central reservation" means that your car cannot fit fully in the reservation gap, so it will protrude forwards and/or backwards, and therefore it will partly be in one or the other (or both) lanes of the carriageway, hence = blocking the road.
So, you should wait until both sides of the road are clear before crossing/turning right.

I believe this question was originally phrased "the central reservation is too small for your car", which makes it a bit more obvious.

Uh oh your doing what I did, crapped myself when I realised what the january changes meant so booked the theory and though because i've been driving for 28 years I would walk it. Failed. So had to do it again but second time got a phone app and actually revised.

Good luck anyway.

You could try little with a pen on the ends of ypour fingers for stopping distances. I did this but stupidly put the dots on my left hand, shuld have put them on my right as that's the hand I use a mouse with.

Thanks for all your advice!

Boozehawk, hmmm I'm only 17, and I don't feel very confident. I just hope I remember the essentials! Every mock test I've done I have got 37/50. So hopefully today I will get the answers right.

If you fail just look at it this way whatever it takes time and money wise to get a licence you've still got more biking years ahead of you then those of us who left it till we are in our forties.

They should've left well alone. Ambiguity has no place in a test environment. Smile

Oh well never mind. Same thing happened to me but using a phone app for a couple of days before my second test worked well for me.

Chin up and plug on. It could have been worse there was a guy turned up five minutes late for his test when I had just finished mine and they wouldent let him sit his test. Poor guy was gutted he was onviously so hyped up as well.

Remember we all make mistakes, as the Dalek said climbing off the dustbin! Smile

I got the DSA guide to the motorcycle theory test before I did mine. It has all the questions and answers in it (although they are worded very slightly differently). Just go through that a couple of times and you will pass without a problem.
