My BROS is covered in crap from the steering stem back, the Rear wheel is Black with shit from my supertrapp (sprays coke out when wet), tried some degreasers but they dont really get everything off.
Are steam cleaners any good? or are the more trouble than they're worth?
What do you use to clean your bikes?
ive used fairy liquid a few times, but this leaves everything looking a bit dull & old.. my bike is dull & old.. but I spray it with GT85 when its dry to put the shiney back and make it easier to clean next time. ____________________ Honda BROS 400, Supertrapp exhaust, Pannier rack, K & N filter, Braided front hose

if its really guite bad try using some chain cleaner on the wheel (i di if mine get bad)

what i use if i dont use WD40. however if yo want to take alittle more of a risk, spray some brake cleaner onto a clean cloth and go over thw wheel with that - dont leave the brake cleaner it may well take off the paint, it will leave it a bit duller but a bit of GT85 or polish will bring it back up ____________________ Current rides - 2016 Triumph Street Triple Rx, 1994 Suzuki Bandit 400 VM, TGB 204 Classic 125cc

Why not have a look into getting the wheel powdercoated? A lot of places are dirt cheap nowadays.
If not, try a decent de-greaser like Gunk or Auto-Glym engine cleaner, followed by a slightly abrasive cleaner, eg; T-Cut, followed by a polish.
Fairy Liquid has salt in it, so not the best thing to use - keep it for the dishes ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Chain lubes can contain waxes in solution. When the solvent evapourates the wax film is left.
So you need to get the wax in solution again.
Brake cleaner is really harsh but halfords do some in a gallon container that is not harmfull at all. It dosn't clean brake dust off but it does shift grease.
You can always use the mechanics favourite. Petrol on a rag.
But no smoking.
What ever you use will remove all grease that's why the paint looks dull. A good body wax fixes that.
And the secret is to clean it more often that way the film of shite doesn't build up. That lets cleaners act on the surfaces of the shite 'film' and not have to penetrate deep into a layer. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

I use Cillit Bang.......the purple one for bathrooms.
Now, it is quite corrosive on alloy, so......
The way i use it is this - spray it on one small area of the wheel, leave to soak for about 30 seconds, wipe all the crap off, then rinse well with clean water. Repeat this all around the wheel until its all sparkly and lush!!!
The shite just comes away like magic!
Please, make sure you have a good supply of water, or a hosepipe, before you start. It does a great job, but it can fuck up your alloy if left too long! ____________________ Current......Kawasaki ZZR1200 C2H and Kawasaki ZZR600 E7
